“Best of West!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 7, 2013

I booked this motel online for our two-day stay in West Yellowstone. Ordinarily we stay at larger motel chains like Best Western, but after talking to Brian on the phone I decided that this motel would meet our needs; and it had a much more reasonable price.

We were warmly greeted by both Patty and Brian when we first arrived from Bozeman. After we got signed in, Patty took us over to our room, which was small, but oh, so charming. We had a king-size bed which was extremely comfortable, and had a gorgeous comforter and pillows on it. We knew we'd come to the right place... it was such a change from the more sterile motel rooms we'd been used to.

As others have said, the office has a basket filled with goodies for the taking, such as granola bars, small candies; the rooms don't have microwaves as no cooking is allowed, but Patty and Brian gladly let us use the microwave in the office for heating up hot cocoa (provided). Coffee is also provided there in the office.

The room had a table so that I could set up our laptop, and the wi-fi is password protected which is a lot better than the totally unsecured wi-fi in the big motels. My husband could sit in the other chair and read while I was downloading photos and answering emails.

Yes, the bathroom is very small, and to wash our hands we had to walk across the room to the sink. But the shower had excellent water pressure and there was a basket filled with soap, shampoo, lotion, etc. And it was squeaky clean, as was the entire room. We learned that Brian and Patty do all the cleaning themselves, and what a difference that makes.

We parked our car right outside our unit the first night; the second night we parked at the end of the driveway but that was no big deal.

I can't say enough wonderful things about this motel! What I appreciated most was the cleanliness and the friendliness of Brian and Patty. It was like we were family and they were delighted that we were there. It snowed a little the first night we were there, but inside our room we were warm and cozy.

The motel is right on a main street, but our room was extremely quiet. The only thing that didn't work was the deadbolt on our door, and like PopTopBob I forgot to mention it to Brian.

This motel was a refreshing change from the chain motels we'd been used to, and we would stay here again in a heartbeat. Highly recommended!

Room Tip: I don't think you could go wrong with any room in this motel. Ours was only second from the str...

Brian and Patty understand the words customer service. Very friendly and helpful from 7:30AM to 10PM they are available for any needs in the office. Room was plain and homey, but Very Clean. Sink was in room far from the bathroom which was tiny with a toilet and shower, period. But the water in the shower was hot and all toiletries were provided. The office provided hot coffee/tea, cereal bars and bite size candy at all hours of opening. The only thing I would suggest is a coffee maker in the room.

What a great surprise ... Alpine Motel was just darling. We left Yellowstone heading towards the Alpine in West Yellowstone and found the greatest little town and this motel. The owners Brian and Patty Watson were very friendly and just so helpful with restaurants and the lay of the land. Their check in area was full of goodies to take with you on your journeys.

Each one of their rooms are cabins with their own personalities and VERRRRRRRRRRRRRRY CLEAN. Found out Brian and Patty clean these rooms themselves, no wonder. Each cabin was spacious for being a single cabin and the bathroom was just fine. We had no issues with this place and we would go back there again!!!!!!!!!!

We stayed 2 nights here in a king bed room with knotty pine wood which was very cute with a nice bedspread and pillows. The owners made the most of what they had to work with. Yes, the bathroom (toilet and shower) was small and the sink was in the room. Everything was spotless. Good wifi, nice direct TV, lots of bathroom supplies like soap, shampoo, etc. Very helpful owners with suggestions for whatever you needed. They provided a couple of suitcase racks instead of normally just 1 which was a nice touch allowing us to get everything we had into the fairly small room taking into account the large king bed dominating the room. Nice table with a couple of stools where we had our takeout pizza instead of waiting a long time for a table to become free at the bar/restaurant. Nice location, right in the center of town, yet it was quiet, so you can leave your car parked and just walk. There is a microwave to use in the office which you have to stop by anyway to pick up coffee, tea, some small candies (yum) or the breakfast bars they have for the taking. Everything worked out fine for a 2 night stay. In our room there was 1 small thing I forgot to mention to the owner, the deadbolt lock did not engage, but I am sure he will monitor this website and have that fixed once he knows about it.

Room Tip: Call and speak with the owners since they are so helpful.

The owners, Brian and Patty, are friendly and thoughtful. The rooms, while small, are immaculately clean. The office is stocked with many items from candy to toiletries, in case one forgets something.

Before contacting the owner we saw that the motel was on one of the main streets. Therefore, we requested a room away from the street. Because of our early request they were able to accommodate us. From our arrival and throughout our 4 day stay the owners where very helpful and friendly. The workman who did the inside and outside of the room looked into every small detail. The workmanship was excellent. The room fixtures we well maintained. As was the room itself. Parking could be difficult depending on the size of the cars. One small thing which most guests have mentioned - the bathroom! The toilet takes up the same room as the shower - about 9 sq ft. The door is beside you and can only open out. I suppose to make it larger would have taken away from the room. The sink was in the room. Having said this, the bathroom provided enough room for the two purposes it was used for.
The location of the motel was convenient for everywhere in town and the park.
I would stay there again.

This too was our hub to Yellowstone. The key is to book early. As everyone mentioned Brian and Patty are really good at what they do! Our room had everything we needed and was close to everything. Brian even gave us some great suggestions for the ride home. We were able to see some huge trout! Thank you for making Alpine Motel so great!
