Newly decorated and very clean. The owner and staff were very helpful. Offered free tickets to the rodeo that was in town. Right outside the west entrance to Yellowstone. Very good price for peak season.

Paid $140/night for three double beds. No bargain. Portable air conditioner, no plug in the bathroom, squeeky beds (REALLY BAD). 15" TV, view of a trash bin. Being from out-of-state, I was not aware of how bad this motel really is. Based on the Yelp reviews, I thought this was going to be OK but it was far from that. Unfortunately checked in late at night so did not see room before hotel staff went home for the night. I was just waiting for daybreak to leave and go to any of the other hotels in the area. I was supposed to stay there for a number of days but no way would I stay a second night.

Room Tip: Go to the White Elephant Motel next door.

This a totally inaccurate review. The beds are not squeeky, the tv is not a 15 inch t.v. and there is an electrical outlet in the bathroom. The air conditioner provides plenty of cooling and has never been an issue for anyone else. This review is not justified and should be removed.

Thanks, Mike

This is a simple hotel that is very reasonable in price in an expensive town. No, it doesn't have a complete hot breakfast or a pool/hot tub. But for a place to relax after driving through Yellowstone all day, its great. It is a clean, old fashioned and provides the basics. Another plus is that it is within walking distance of all the tourist shops on main street. The front desk clerk was friendly and helpful in where to eat in town when we were checking in. I would recommend it to anyone I knew traveling to West Yellowstone.

Rooms were very basic motel variety. Clean but could use some maintenance on the plumbing fixtures, HVAC set up not ideal but thankfully it wasn't hot out so we didn't need to test out the unique AC unit. Best part was that it was quiet and the innkeepers were very friendly and helpful.

This is a small motel, room is not large but you get what you need. The one most important element to me is the room is very very clean, no smell at all. Bathroom is clean as well.

The owner serves simple breakfast in the morning, coffee, oatmeal, crackers etc., I will recommend it to my friends.

Room Tip: Call the motel and talk to the owner, they will help.

Hotels in West Yosemite are very expensive. We stayed at the One Horse Motel based on its good reviews. Location is good, one block behind the main drag. We walked to dinner in 5 minutes. The front desk was very tiny and dated. We were a bit taken back by it when we arrived. But the receptionist was very friendly and helpful. We were in room #1, which is right next to the road. We were worry about road noise but it turned out to be fine. Our room was very small with 2 full size beds. The room can sleep up to 4 based on the number of towels they provided. It was just enough space for 2 people. For a group of 4, it would be very tight. The heater is old but it works great. We needed it even in July when the night was cold in the 40s. It also has a portable floor AC unit in the room. We didn’t need the AC since it was cool. The room is clean and everything works. The bathroom is updated and small. Towels are surprisingly new, thick and fluffy, like those in a 4 star hotels. There is no vent in the bathroom. There is a window above the shower but it was too cold to open it. There is no hair dryer and we found out we could borrow one from the front desk the day we check out. But the front desk staff is only there until 10 pm. So if you need a hair dryer after 10 pm, you’re out of luck. There was juice and coffee by the front desk in the morning but we didn’t go for them. Overall One Horse Motel provides clean, good value accommodation and it’s much cheaper than the Best Western right next door and other hotels.

For breakfast, we went to Woodside Bakery and got the breakfast sandwich. We also picked up sandwich for lunch before going into Yellowstone. Sandwiches at Woodside are big and tasty. The bakery is very busy in the morning.
