“Moose Creek Cabins are Great!”
Reviewed July 10, 2008

We stayed at the Yellowstone Condo (Condo 2) at Moose Creek for 2 days and the condo was just great. It was like a home with all amenities (including a fantastic kitchen) and an excellent mountain view as it was facing the road. It was actually too big for our family of 3 but we did not mind. They even had some oil, dish washing liquid, cleaning supplies, some salt. coffee, sugar etc stored in the kitchen which was more than what we expected. Needless to say, it was very well maintained. The condo is at the end of town and not in the center of town like the other cabin rooms at Moose Creek but we did not mind as we had a car to get around and we liked the view.

We also stayed at the Cowboy Mini Suite for 2 days and it was kind of small (Maybe having stayed at the condo) with very little or no closet space. There was a small kitchen which had an old gas stove but working. The beds were a little worn out and kind of going in when you sat at the ends.

Overall, we had a good experience at Moose Creek Cabins whether we stayed in the small cabin or the condo. The people at the front desk are really friendly and eager to please. They maintain the premises neatly. I am glad I read the reviews about Moose Creek on Tripasvisor and decided to stay with them even though we did not get one single room for a continuous stay.

  • Liked — The stay the at the Condo was great!
  • Disliked — Nothing much really but you could say the beds at the Cowboy mini-suite

This place gets good reviews, but I don't think it was as good as people made it out to be. It's location is pretty bad being in a very depressing part of town. Overgrowth and open dirt/gravel lots abound in this part of town. I stayed in the cowboy mini suite. The room was pretty decent, about what I expected from what I saw. Instead of being head over heels about my stay like the rest of the folks, I'd say this is just an average place. As an aside, the guy who I assumed was the owner was very nice and I'm sure would be very helpful if you needed info or had problems. He does not make up for the overall depressing feeling I had staying there.

  • Liked — The room itself was OK
  • Disliked — The location/grounds made me sad. I need an upper!

We stayed for five nights at the Moose Creek Cabins while exploring Yellowstone National Park. I was quite pleased with the accommodations. While the rooms were small they were exceptionally clean and well maintained. It was a comfortable room to return to after spending the day driving/hiking through the park. The owners are very friendly and provided tips on what parts of Yellowstone were a must see. I would definitely stay here again.

We stayed here for 3 nights in the Yellowstone Room. The "rooms" are regular motel like rooms with western/specialty decor with log furniture. The rooms are exceptionally clean. The inn keepers Dan and his wife are extremely nice. They offer hot cocoa, coffee, spiced cider, and mini muffins in the morning. Everything is the powdered stuff but it is still a nice little touch. The property is rather small but it is very quaint. There is a gas grill that can be used. I would suggest staying in one of the cabins that are very cute and has two separate sleeping areas. I am glad that we stayed at Moose Creek Cabins.

After reading trip advisor reviews we decied to stay at Moose Creek cabins this past month. Our stay was for three days in the "Wolf Room" . every thing was as shown in the pictures on their web site. The room was cozy and clean. We particularly enjoyed the owners who chatted with us over coffee each day. It is a family-run business, and they work very hard at keeping the units clean and up to date. The log cabin quilt in the wolf room was a nice touch. I would recomment this to anyone.

We were four people on a road trip and left Bozeman to stay near Big Sky over President's Weekend. They were so expensive, so we decided to head to West Yellowstone and get one of the cabins at Moose Creek. It was dark when we came upon an accident just out of Big Sky and with all the traffic ahead of us, we thought we would have to sleep in the van.
We had stayed at Moose Creek Cabins twice before and loved it. There was no light on in the office when we arrived, but Dan and Brenna were in the large log cabin at the end of the parking lot. We lucked out and got the last room, which was the loft that they had recently completed. It was very roomy with 3 beds (2 in one room and 1 in the other), a good sized bathroom, a tv in each room, and kitchenette. It was above the office and the snowfall dulled the street noise of the vehicles and the snowmobiles. There was no one above or below us, so it was very private and quiet.
We have never been there in the summer, so there is probably more noise.
This was our third stay and we enjoy it more every time. The price is so reasonable and everything is clean and decorated so appropriately for that part of the country. We had a nice visit the next morning and left with a hot cup of coffee.

  • Liked — Personal, not a chain.
