“Yellowstone family vacation”

Great place to stay! We stayed in the old part of the hotel and if I was going to be spending a lot of time in the hotel I probably wouldn't stay here, but with so much to see and do in Yellowstone we were only in the room to sleep so it was perfect! Clean, affordable, comfortable even had a microwave and refrigerator for small things. Best of all it accommodated our family of 5 perfectly with 3 Qn beds in the room! I would definitely stay here again, even in the old part.

Three Bear Lodge is a really good place to stay in West Yellowstone, which feels somewhat limited in quality. It's in a good location (most of the town is, I guess), just a short walk to the center of town. You can park on the street right in front of the hotel, which is convenient. If you're on the second floor, you have to lug your stuff up a fairly narrow staircase since there is no elevator, but we requested a second floor room and we knew that going in.

The hotel staff was friendly and courteous and were helpful when we needed to reschedule our stay due to illness. The room itself is nice and big and has lots of nice touches you might otherwise not expect in a hotel.

I assume some of the rooms have a good view of something; ours did not, just a parking lot.

The biggest problem I had was the A/C unit; the fan would shut off randomly and come back on randomly. It didn't seem to follow the temperature or anything. Not sure if this is by design or not.

Room Tip: There's no elevator, so keep that in mind.

We were in a tiny room without even enough room for our suitcases. The door opened against the bed which made it very difficult to move our stuff in. The ac unit doubled a heater which we needed. The room was clean and nicely decorated, just small and nothing special

Summary:
Stayed in a two room suite in the "newer" section. Comfortable, clean room. Housekeeping was generous with towels, soaps, lotions and shampoos. Very SLOW WiFi with outdated log-in page. Location is within walking distance of many West Yellowstone shops and restaurants and very close to the entrance of Yellowstone National Park. The restaurant associated with Three Bear Lodge served a very good breakfast (a $2 discount coupon for each hotel night stay, for each guest was provided by the front desk) and the restaurant staff (Karen) was exceptionally friendly and helpful.

Additional details:
Most of the people that I've encountered in the Yellowstone National Park area service industry this past week have been very to exceptionally friendly and helpful (4-5 out of five). The front desk staff at Three Bear Lodge was not unfriendly, but not exceptionally warm.

When we arrived, Three Bear Lodge was just preparing for summer tourist season. The pool was empty and the hot tubs were clean but way too hot (felt like hotter than 110 degrees F). When I spoke with the front desk about it, they said that the hot tubs were normally set at 104 F but that no one was available to check or make an adjustment until the next day. When I checked back the next afternoon, I was informed that the temperature had been reset to 102 F. The hot tub was a lot more comfortable from that point on.

Room Tip: Second floor, newer section room was quiet.

Green Features: Recycling receptacles were easy to find. Motion detecting, energy saving automatic light switches were installed in lobby restrooms.

My adult daughter and I took a trip to Yellowstone (something on my bucket list). We chose the Three Bear Lodge for our stay. We were very pleased with its very close location to both town restaurants, shops and the entrance to the park.

The lodge room was large, modern, comfortable and still had a rustic feel (in an appropriate way). The staff was friendly. Des pite previous revuiews about the restaurant, we found the restaurant and lounge to be very good with reasonable prices.

I would not hesitate to recommend to our friends to stay here when they visit this area. If we get to go back, we will return to the Three Bear Lodge.

Also Kim at See Yellowtone (sister tour company) was awesome. Competent, friendly and very knowledgeable about the wildlife and the park itself.

It was okay , did have a little smell at first, but when they cleaned the room next day it smelled better, smelled liked they used air freshener after they cleaned.. Bed was comfortable. Rooms were average size or little bigger the room was kind of worn looking but clean. Hair dryer went out because it sounded very used when plugged it in making a weird sound but had my own so no problem. Breakfast was good in the restaurant did not eat lunch or dinner there.
we stayed 4 nights from May 13, 2013 to May 17 ,2013. I might stay there again if we ever are going to the area again.

I went there with some friends for three days in November 2012. Rooms are clean and the location is just perfect for visiting the National Park. It was very quiet at that time of the year and we spend every day in Yellowstone NP. So we came back at around 7-8pm to relax in the hot tubs
