I would highly recommend this establishment. This is not your average generic Motel 6 type hotel. If you want to stay somewhere with some character and charm, that has hostesses that are knowledgable on the area, friendly, and caring, then this is the place. The hostesses here are the owners, and not just some teenager behind a desk. They were very helpful in navigating the various sites to see, places to eat, and local info. The units feel more like staying in a cabin in the woods, versus a hotel room. The decor is fitting, with rustic furniture, and many other amenities you don't find in a hotel, e.g. a wood burning fireplace, small fridge, microwave, etc. The establishment is located just minutes to the park entrance, but just far enough away that your not surrounded by millions of people staying in the large hotel complexes right near the entrance. We will definitely attempt to stay here again when we return. I say attempt, as people who are "in the know" stay at this Inn, and it can be filled. I really hope the Sauers are still there when I return. I can't wait to ask them about the lessor known spots that were the highlight of our trip.

This place was a dive! It was extremely small, yet they cramped all kinds of stuff in it so there was no room to walk or get around. A beam ran down the center so we had to keep ducking going from the bed to the bathroom (but we still managed to bump our heads - it was that low). A thin piece of material (cannot call it a curtain) partially covered the 2 small windows. An outside streetlight shone through the window until we figured a way to cover it with one of our jackets. Noisy fridge. Poorly installed AC window unit. Noisy bed. The cabin seemed unlevel - leaned one way. We could go on and on... but the bottom line is we will definitely will never stay here again.

Loved our stay at this little motel. Our room had a fireplace, and falling asleep by firelight was wonderful. The owners had put out samples of granola bars, gum and various shampoos and such, which we enjoyed. The bed was comfortable, the decor rustic but charming. I'd definitely stay there again.

Really enjoyed our cabin at the Yellowstone Inn. It was clean, and cozy if maybe a little bit cramped. It's an old style cabin with plenty of knotty pine. The bed was very comfortable. The owner also very very nice. His recommendation for a restaurant for dinner was so good we back the next morning for breakfast. If we get back to West Yellowstone we will stay here again.

Good basic accomodation in a quite location. Our room was rather small but adequate for the price. We welcomed the choice of coffee and better than average toiletries and there were unusual touches such as a goody bag of energy bars, gum, tampons and ibroprufen!

Stayed here for three nights and really enjoyed our stay. Owners are on-site and very friendly/helpful. The motel is older (as most are in West Yellowstone), but has clearly been completely reworked and well maintained. Most of the units here are different layouts, so I can really only comment on Unit #4. It included two queen beds with log-style couch and a very nice leather-like reclining chair. There was a wood burning fireplace and fridge/micro as well. The decor was very cabin-like with rich wood walls/floor and exposed beam ceilings. The bathroom was nicely redone as well with ceramic tile shower. No bathroom vent, but there was a little sliding window in there. The pedestal sink provided no counter space, which was a little tricky...but there was a small glass shelf. The owners provide little touches that are neat....complimentary granola bars and gum in the room, nifty little shampoos in country-style jars:-), and trail mix in the lobby. There are baseboard radiator units and a window AC unit. Free WiFi is available, but was spotty when we were there.

Units 1-4 are in a shared building and each opens to a common porch area. I believe that the rest of the units (located behind this building) are individual little cabins. Parking for units 1-4 is at the street curb, but there was never an issue with finding space to park. The location is on the opposite side of town from the Yellowstone entrance, but still very close (if you are in W. Yellowstone, you are within 2-3 minutes of the west entrance).

Over all, this is a great value in West Yellowstone. Expect a very well redone older property with alot of character and cabin-like charm. Great small touches and really friendly folks. I would stay here again.

The Sauers were great and our room as others had noted: clean, comfortable and convenient to the park. We enjoyed our stay and would again.
