We loved the suite we stayed in, next time will bring our own food to cook but the Happy Hour Bar had some good food and pretty reasonable prices when compared to the fare in West Yellowstone and it was better food. The omelet bar was great on Sunday morning. The rooms were really nice and roomy and the view is spectacular not to mention how welcome Jeanine makes you feel and her cute little dog Dee-O-Gee, so cute we wanted to steal him. We are already planning our next pilgrimage and it was really not that far from the entrance to the park and worth the little extra drive-it is only 15 miles of very easy road. We also went up to the Earthquake site and it was really humbling. Just a very nice experience.

We recently stayed two nights at the Hebgen Lake Mountain Inn.
It reminded us of Lake Tahoe.
Jeannine & her dog, D.O.G., were excellent hosts.
She did everything to make us feel welcome from
the first hug when we arrived. She was very helpful.
Loved her sense of humor and passion for the lake.

It is a bit of a drive from Yellowstone's West Entrance,
but well worth it!

We stayed here for three days in September and it was so great! The rooms were like apartments and very clean. The view from the balconies of Hebgen Lake were beautiful and Jeanine was amazing!! It's about a ten to fifteen minute drive to Yellowstone NP and it was actually really nice to stay out of the chaos that was right outside the park. Not really any amenities, but you won't even care.

A nice hide-a-way from the busy streets of West. From the outside it may seem unsure to the eye, but Jeannine is just a hoot and so friendly. The restaurant across the street has such good food, especially the garlic burger. Rooms are spacious and clean. Waking up to the sun rising on the lake is the most beautiful sight. Will definetly come back again.

Jeannine knew I would arrive after dark yet there were NO lights on and I drove past it. I called her later and she said to come back and she'd turn on the lights. Not a good beginning.

I saw no lobby, no registration desk, no paperwork. It's an old concrete motel that's for sale. Not a "new" Hebgen Lake Mountain Inn. Jeannine watched me unload the car, no one else was around, no help was offered. I was not interested in the Happy Hour Bar across the street which was obviously her main interest. No one else was there, no traffic in the parking lot, no voices from other guests.

The accommodations were clean, the bed comfortable, but there was a pungent chemical odor that was very unpleasant.

This hotel is a little farther from Yellowstone than lodging at West Yellowstone, but still fairly close to the park. The rooms were older and rustic, but were spacious and a good value compared to other lodging options in the area. We were grateful for wi-fi, as the TV had no offerings whatsoever. As a side note, highly recommend Hwy 287 between Ennis and the Hebgen dam for wildlife viewing.

As the other reviewers have noted, this place should be kept a secret, otherwise when we go back it could be difficult to get a room. But, since we had the best vacation of our lives, I would like to compliment Jeannine and her lovely dog for providing us such a great stay. We stayed at the inn for 6 nights, waking up each morning to a lovely view of the lake and mountains. Each day we drove a short 15 miles into Yellowstone National park, where we experienced the wonderful scenery and wildlife.

The inn rooms are quite large, with TV, stove, refrigerator and everything else that an efficiency apartment would supply. The beds were quite comfortable and it was very quiet in the motel as Jeannie gave us a room on the upper floor and at the end of the building.

We ate each night across the street at the Happy Hour Bar, which has excellent food, but that is another review that I will be writing up. Very convenient to have food and drink and not worry about drinking too much and driving, as it is just across the street.

The price for the room was pretty low for out of season, $95 a night, if you stay 6 nights, you can get the 7th night free.

The only thing that made us sad is that the inn is up for sale, each room is for sale as condo, I only hope that when we go back, the new owner of the room will have the same great prices and Jeannine is kept on as the manager. She was terrific to us and we hope to see her again.
