“Absolutely beautiful!”
Reviewed October 7, 2013

This was an amazing lake; we stopped at a lot of the turnouts for photos because it was so beautiful. We saw an eagle perched in the limb of a tree, which was pretty exciting. This is definitely a must-see if you're in the area.

“Beautiful”
Reviewed October 5, 2013

My wife and I made two trips today hoping to see wildlife. The first trip was around noon and we struck out. The second was around 5:00 and we saw a moose and two bald eagles. The scenery is beautiful and the story of the lake is interesting.

“Erie !!”
Reviewed September 18, 2013

Hearing the story of the great earthquake and the devastation to those who were camping was shocking. Tree trunks and limbs still stand bare and tall in the water like ghosts remembering this disaster.

“Slight detour”
Reviewed September 18, 2013

Although visitor center is closed, signs along the road tell an amazing story of the earthquake that transformed the topography of this area. You can still see the ruins of some of the cabins and the roadway that sank into the lake.
