The Brook Trout Inn is absolutely the perfect Yellowstone Retreat. It is about 6-7 miles west of the west entrance to Yellowstone. Because we wanted 4 nights in the area & could not get consecutive nights at any of the houses at Brook Trout Inn, we stayed 2 nights in Bull Elk Lodge & 2 nights in the Kozy Cabin.
Bull Elk Lodge: One word. AMAZING. There were only two of us and a small Shih Tzu, so we felt like we were rattling around a little in this amazing place. If you have a large family, this place would be perfect. Bill, the host, does beautiful woodwork & I venture to guess that he built the dining table which seats 12. The lodge (very large house) had three normal bedrooms and a huge back L-shaped bedroom area with two queens & three twins - with a foosball table & an electric fireplace. The gorgeous, big kitchen had everything and anything you might need. We had two restful, quiet nights in the Bull Elk Lodge.
Kozy Cabin: Small and cozy. Period. We really liked staying in this cabin. The kitchen cabinets are amazing because Bill is a magician with wood. I love those cabinets! It seems obvious the cabin has been continuously updated and it is very comfortable. It was a very nice retreat after a day in Yellowstone.
The only downside for me was that the wifi was not working as it should have been in the cabin. It worked great in Bull Elk! We will return. Thank you, Bill!
