Hotel doesn't look like much from the outside, but they have a lot of renovated rooms that are very nice, and we were pleasantly surprised. Also, we like that staying in this small, seasonal, family-run motel supports local business. No amenities, but does have free wifi.

I know some of the reviews talk about the older rooms, but if you can ask for one of the rooms in the renovated section, you'll be pleased. It feels like an apartment with new carpet, fixtures, modern bedding (light coverlet and not a heavy old comforter). No hair dryer or fridge, come prepared.

The lady who welcomed us was very nice, appart from that I would not recommend this motel.
Rooms are small and with a very old furniture, bed and carpet, they really need a renovation to become nicer and more welcoming. However they are clean.

Sight unseen, we booked a room here and were a bit wary on checking in...the rooms have all been updated, were spotlessly clean, the beds comfy and all was quiet enough to sleep even on the 4th of July!! No fridge and you have to ask for ice, but was right in the middle of town and could walk everywhere.

Room Tip: Very close to Park entrance..

Location is close to the visitor center. However, one would normally be driving when visiting the national parks, and since West Yellowstone is a small city to begin with, the proximity is really NOT a plus point at all.

There are two sections to the place, one with single storey and another with double stories. We stayed at the single storey ones which are kinda old on the inside.
The double stories seemed better.

Note that this is a family-owned business. In my hotel confirmation email, it did not state to check-in by 10pm. We ran late and arrived at about 11pm only to receive a dressing down from the lady-in-charge who complained that she had to get out of bed, and also "forbid" us to use the showers that night for fear of waking the other guests. In all the other accommodations that I have encountered, if the front-desk was not open, they would have left an envelope with the room keys. It wasn't a nice first encounter after a long tiring day or driving to get there.

They seem to be quite in demand though.
If this is because of the location, I feel that future guests should reconsider.

We had a most unpleasant encounter with hotel owner, when we pulled up outside and parked on the roadside out the front of the motel. It appeared to be a fine spot to park, as it wasn't labelled. The owner came out and spoke very crossly to us, before even asking if we were staying in the motel. Welcome to America!! This man would have to be about the rudest person we have come across in our travels in America! Also the property was also most uninviting.Would suggest you look for a better place to stay!

I stayed here on a Saturday at the end of June, and since it has a fantastic location- a stone's throw from the west entrance to Yellowstone, it was understandably busy. The lady who checked in me was very friendly and professional. The room I was given was very spacious, clean and fresh- obviously had just been renovated. The bed was very comfortable, and after a long day around Yellowstone, it was just perfect! Although it's on the Yellowstone edge of town, it's still walkable to a number of shops and eateries, so you're not out in the sticks! And despite being very busy, you would hardly know it in the room- I didn't hear a peep out of any of the adjacent rooms!

Room Tip: The double queen room is very spacious!
