Yellowstone Mountain Guides is a great company run by Terry and Angie Search. We started planning our early May Yellowstone vacation in March, and couldn't find a company that was a) going to have horses available that early in the season and b) were actually licensed to guide into Yellowstone. We contacted Terry who didn't turn us down flat, but encouraged us to get back to him a little closer to our trip. He was great in keeping in touch with us and was able to bring in some horses for us! We were the first ride of the season. They trailered the horses to meet us which was great, it saved us time in getting into the park for our half day ride. Terry and our guide Charles were very patient with the less experienced riders and made sure everyone was comfortable before we took off. We rode Charlie, Skip and Dakota thru the pines, across some flat lands near Hebgen Lake and up to look out mountain. Charles was a great guide, and full of really interesting information about the wildlife and surrounding areas. We were alittle early in the season, so the wildlife was a bit scarce but we did see several herd of bison. We had a lovely lunch on top of the mountain, then made our way back down. The weather was perfect and we couldn't have asked for a better day. Thanks Terry and Charles for a wonderful memory. I'll be heading to Yellowstone again and will definetly book with Yellowstone Mountain guides again.

Went on a half day ride. Yana was our guide and everything was great. She was very informative and knowlegable about the area. The scenery was beautiful and we never ran out of things to talk about. Horses, Rebel and Tonto were great, also. I will highly recommend there services to anyone. From the beginning and talking to Terry until the end of our trip, the people are first class!

We went out for a full day excursion up to the red cliff area by Hebgen Lake. We met Yanna and Jordan at an intersection by the trails and they were right on time. The day was beautiful, cool and sunny. The trail was exciting and by that I mean scary at times because I have a fear of heights. Not to worry, the horses were sure footed and gentle. They knew the trails and listened well to commands. Yanna was the lead guide and was very knowledgeable having grown up in the area. The conversation was good, and we even sang a few trail songs...much to the dismay of the horses I'm sure. We started to an old cabin on the mountain top but had to abandon that trail when Yannas horse bounded through 6 feet of snow. She was wise to stop us from even attempting it and checked the trail herself first. A true sign of someone who cares for the individuals they are guiding. Made for great video though! The scenery was beautiful throughout the ride. We stopped for lunch in a little valley and made a snow angel..why not?! The lunch was basic, but no drinks..come on Terry soda, juice??? Not that big a deal because we had brought some and Yanna and Jordan loaded them in the saddle bags. Check before you go because the altitude makes you thirsty. All in all a great trip. I would recommend this to anyone that has some horse experience, ours is whenever we go on vacation. The trails are narrow and mostly steep so valley rides would probably be better for youngsters. Thanks again guys, I will post to your FB page so you can have the video of Yanna getting all Western!

Booked a 3 day private trail ride, Tim was our guide and everything was perfect. Beautiful scenery and great sturdy horses. I have also used them for my wintertime snowmobiling trips in Yellowstone and surrounding areas with great pleasure. Every time i get in that neck of the woods i will use Terry Search. Excellent operation
