“Do the backcounty hike if you can!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 7, 2012

My husband and I took the 4.5 mile south rim hike along the yellowstone river and were able to see the river, the canyon, the upper and lower falls without all the tourists. Highly recommended. The hike can also continue past Uncle Tom's stairs into thermal features and into a bison filled meadow! It was worth it!

“You see it the whole way into the park from Livingston”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 1, 2012

River follows you to the park (it is actually flowing towards Livingston so that tells you how strong the flow is). You can track it through the park and wind up at the Upper and Lower Falls which flow into the Grand Canyon of Yellowstone. Plenty ofplaces to stop and wade or just to wet your feet and have lunch.

“The Magnificence of Nature”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 26, 2012

Be sure to stop by Yellowstone River and also hike to the Upper Falls, via a short trail. This is a breathtaking river and the Grand Canyon of Yellowstone is worth a visit as well. This was a major highlight of a recent trip to Yellowstone. Be sure to also stop at Artist's Point along the river too, for amazingly beautiful views.
