The tour guide was great. It was a little cramped inside the vehicle. I took the same tour three years ago with Buffalo Tours and it was a little more comfortable.

Aside from a snowmobile tour, this is the only way to access the interior of the park. It was expensive for our family of four so we treated it as a one time event and had to forgo a day of lift tickets. Once at Old Faithful, our tour guide allowed us to snowshoe through Biscuit Basin and meet up with her down the road. She was very knowledgable and answered our questions.

We had an excellent day with our tour guide Dave. He knows EVERYTHING about Yellowstone and was very patient with us so we could take lots of pictures. The scenery was amazing and we saw lots of wildlife: bison, elk, wolf, coyote, eagle, swan... During the day we were able to get out and take several small hikes and we had a long stop at Old Faithful. This is where we ate a packed lunch. The coach was warm and with many windows and 2 trap doors in roof so everyone could see. It was easy to get in and out.

My parents and I were excited to go and see Yellowstone in the winter, after many summers visiting, we couldn't wait to see the park covered in snow! John was our guide and we had a great GREAT time!! He was very accomodating and informative. The snowcoach was great! Being able to stand up and take pictures from outside was so convenient, and at the end of the day when all of the other coaches windows were all fogged up, we still had a great clear view from ours! We saw lots of animals, and the park was so beautiful with a boatload of fresh powder covering everything! On the way out of the park we watched a bald eagle chowing down on a sizable trout in a tree, and were very fortunate to watch a pack of 5 wolves right near the road!! It was an amazing day and well worth it! I would highly recommend it!

My wife and i were excited at the opportunity of seeing wolves in their natural environment. We booked a full day guided trek and let Alpen Guides know we hoped to get off the typical drive and pull off the road type tour. Our hope was to enjoy a great hike and see some treasures of the park. Scott met us at 7am and was very personable. He shared interesting history and facts of the park throughout the day and worked hard to try and get us within view of different wildlife. We did see Elk, Deer, Bison, a Coyote and Proghorn sheep. Everything but a wolf! In all fairness we couldn't blame Scott at all since we learned later that no one had sighted a wolf in the park for 4 days. (And there are people who spend every daylight hour searching for days on end).
I would not hesitate to recommend Alpen Guides. They were reasonably priced compared with other guides and communicated well in the reservation process.
