Firehole Ranch
Reviewed August 27, 2010

From the moment you cross Hebgen lake to the beautiful Firehole Ranch your world becomes one with the land. The fishing, food, scenery, service and lodge was breath taking. We got married on the lawn, and the staff bent over backwards to accomodate to our evey need.... before we even asked! I will be back, worth evey penny and more.

I've stayed in fly fishing lodges all over North America and Patagonia and I've finally found a lodge I will return to year after year. Firehole Ranch is located in the heart of the Golden Triangle of Montana. Access to the Madison, Gallatin, Henry's Fork, plus numerous streams in Yellowstone Park make it an ideal base for outstanding fishing. The lodge provides excellent and plentiful food and drink (French chef Bruno is superb!). Our cabin was very clean with extremely comfortable bedding. The main lodge is rustic and welcoming. Our guide was terrific. Hats off to owner Lyndie and her able team. I look forward to returning next year.

The Firehole ranch outside of West Yellowstone is surrounded by some of the best trout fishing water in the USA. You start your day by taking a pontoon boat across Hebgen lake to meet your guide. You then decide on what gold medal stream you are going to fish that day. You have access to fishing all of the rivers and streams in Yellowstone Park such as the Firehole, Yellowstone, Lamar, Gardner and the Gallatin or you can float/wade the Henry's Fork or Madison river or even head to the Ruby for the day. At the end of the day you come back to enjoy great conversation and excellent food prepared by their French Chief Bruno. The personnel are friendly and helpul and the guides are knowledgeable. The lodge is elegant and yet rustic. I love this place.
