“Cabin #1 for our Yellowstone vacation was perfect.”
Reviewed July 18, 2014

We stayed for 8 nights as we explored the greater Yellowstone area. Cabin 1 has a master bedroom, another bedroom with bunkbeds, and a cool loft with two twin beds. It was great for our family. We chose to eat dinner in to save money, and Cabin 1 was well appointed with a full kitchen, including a dishwasher and quality cookware and dishes. Wagon Wheel even provides coffee and sugar! Daily maid service was impeccable. It was great to return to a clean cabin after a full day of exploring. Cabin 1, which is WW's largest, also has a washer and dryer. WW is a campground/cabin complex which is incredibly clean. We had the option of using the campground restrooms also, which were spotless. I could go on....but West Yellowstone is a great location, situated near the border of Yellowstone. Your host, Ken, will be your travel guide. He was helpful and truly enjoyed talking with us at the beginning and end of each day. Our teenagers insisted we get a photo of him before we left. We had a mini-reunion with two other families. One of our party stayed in a smaller cabin, while the other party brought their camper. Ken made sure we were located close to one another. It was a great trip!

Driving around West Yellowstone with no reservations in July is not recommended. We stopped at 4 different RV Parks. Then we found the WAGON WHEEL. Ken the owner was great. He was all booked up, he gave us the last pull in spot witch was on the outside. HE really didn't want to since it was not the best one on his property but I said we will take it. It was perfectly fine, It was next to a little road were a few mtn bikers pass through. Nothing major. Super clean facilities, game room with pool table and free wifi. (wifi is terribly slow) but it works. The game room is a nice little place for the kids to hang out. Laundry room and restaurants right across the street.
Ken is awesome he does a great job with this park and makes you feel right at home. Recommend to anyone way better than the larger RV parks.

Room Tip: has small cabins for rent as well as bring in your RV.

We camped here with our 29' travel trailer, kind of by mistake. Another RV park was full and they directed us here. I'm glad they did! The other place was more of a generic, large, concrete RV park. Wagon Wheel was so much better. Ken, the owner, was very friendly, provided us with many maps of the area, and even walked out to make sure we didn't need help in pulling in. The price was a bit steep ($65/night), but it's within a mile of the gate to Yellowstone and it was June - so I guess that's what we should expect.

The park is very close to town, you can walk to most of the shops. It's fairly small, but there are lots of trees. The thing that made it so great was Ken and his attention to detail. The bathrooms are spotless, the showers were clean and hot, and everything was very well maintained. Ken said that the campground had been in the family for 30 years and that's the kind of business I'd like to support. Highly recommend.

As others have said, The Cabins are the best and Ken is the best. Wouldn't stay anywhere else in this area. We spent 5 days in Yellowstone, Wagon Wheel is the best place to start and end the day. Located at the edge of town. We will definitely be returning. The cabins have a diary to leave a note for other guest. How many hotels have that?

Room Tip: Call in your breakfast order for Ernie's across the street. They are VERY busy in the morning.

We stayed in Cabin 6. It was impeccably clean and well maintained. The cabin has two bedrooms and a kitchen. As we were there in September we did not make use of the large fenced-in outdoor space with this cabin. The cabin had a national park feel while having a kitchen and more room to spread out than if staying in the park. When making reservations and checking in, Dorit and Ken are very talkative but want to make sure that you get the most out of your vacation. Renda, the cleaning woman, is the best.

We had two young children and had our pre-schooler in the first bedroom, the door between the bedroom and the kitchen is a solid wood door so we were glad we brought our monitor so we could hear her. We set up a pack-n-play in the main bedroom and still had plenty of room to move around and relax. We never used the TV (but there is one).

Even though this campground is located "in town" it feels great as soon as you turn in off the street. We've stayed here three times over the past few years and its one of our favorites - all because of Ken. He is unbelievable. No one has ever provided better customer service in a campground; no one. He is helpful, friendly, industrious and funny. The restrooms at this campground have to be seen to be believed. The old log building used for the restrooms is so perfectly maintained that its simply a very pleasant place to be. Great value for the price. Couldn't recommend this campground any higher.

We were in West Yellowstone for the 2013 West Yellowstone Rod Run so we had our motor home and our old car. Ken went out of his way to be accommodating to our every need, even making sure our car was parked in a safe place. The RV park is spotless. The restrooms and showers are immaculate. The campsites are nestled in trees so each space has some privacy. Ken provides information about the restaurants and activities in town. The campground is located within walking distance of almost everything in town.

We will make his campground our base camp for Yellowstone visits from now on!
