“Get the fall off the bone ribs!!!!!”
Reviewed October 19, 2013

I dont know what all the bad reviews here are all about? I simply liked this place. If your coming from yellowstone park, At the first signal light (canyon street), make a right and its a few buildings up the street on your left.

We came here shopping on a rainy day from the park and asked a local store owner where to get ribs in town. Right away he said buckaroo bills.Does not look like much from the outside More like a colorful ice cream counter place. Inside, there is a small table seating area maybe 10 tables seat yourself. beyond the double doors is a larger seating area with a the tables dressed up to look like covered wagons with stuffed bison, and other for its centerpiece.

The walls (in the first part) are covered with pictures and colorful signs like donkey parking only ect.... The menu has a fair amount of choices here but we came for the ribs and were not disappointed . The half rack was fabulous with fries and a drink the ribs just fell off the bone tender and flavorful. This was one of the best meals we had on our trip. Well compared to the park food anyway.

Bottom line If your in the area this is a great choice for food , attmosphere, and price. You should keep in mind West yellowstone is a tourist place where everything is overpriced to begin with Your not likely to find a bargin here. That said the cost here was reasonable for what you got. Bring the kids and your younger ones too they will love it.............

“Great Place to Eat.”
Reviewed September 19, 2013

Great ambience, excellent service(Julie), Bison burgers were fantastic. When you first enter the cafe, it's like an ordinary eatery, but once you step into the back room, each table is like sitting in a covered wagon! Must try the ribs too!

“Buckaroo Don't”
Reviewed September 5, 2013

After whitewater rafting in Big Sky, MT we decided to get dinner in West Yellowstone. We were looking for a charming family restaurant and to try some local specialties like buffalo and elk.

The place had a weird smell to it, the artwork on the walls were amateurish, the dining room was dark and filled with dusty poorly stuffed taxidermy. We jumped in our chairs when a German Shepard came trotting through the dining hall (we thought the stuff wolf had come to life), and the toilet wouldn't flush in the restroom. Nonetheless, we held out hope that the food would be better than the ambiance. Alas, we were sorely disappointed there too.

The buffalo burgers were overcooked and greasy, the beef stew tasted like it came out of a Dinty Moore can, and the salads looked like it was poured out of a plastic bag with a few extra condiments thrown on top of it. The only decent things on the table were the fries, but that didn't make up for the over-priced entrées.

We regretted not walking across the street and ordering the burger at Dairy Queen (it was that bad).

“Great hot dogs”
Reviewed September 3, 2013

You know I don't eat hot dogs often but I do love a good dog! Buckaroo Bills is the best ever! Not sure of the wait but it is served in a sausage roll with chile, cheese and onions. One sloppy dog but that is what makes it great. PS The buffalo burger is not to bad either.
