Hibernation Station
Reviewed August 12, 2008

This place looks great from the outside, and even when you first walk in. It is a cute, spacious cabin. But as you look closer you realize there are crumbs everywhere, food left in the fridge, pubes on the tolite, a used q-tip on the floor, bathroom and kitchen NOT cleaned, the tile and carpet NOT cleaned, we THINK the sheets are clean, bathroom towels smell like b.o., and there is an odor in the whole place. When we told them it was dirty, they came and wiped about two square feet of the counter with a damp towel--NO CLEANER. It is a shame because this place has good bones, they just need a maid sevice. Check out is at 11am---at 9:30 am on the day we left the cleaning woman asked me what time we'd be leaving!!!!!!!!

Stayed here 3 nights. The look of the hotel was as shown on the web. We were hoping it was worth the 299 a night. Maybe it was. The cabins were exactly as shown. We had cabin 49 with a mountain Goat motiff. We were on the ground floor. This was a 2 story cabin and there is no insulation between floors...you hear all walking around, moving chairs, etc. from above. Woken up each am at 7 by the family moving around getting up, eating , etc. fortunatley they went to bed early and so no pm problems....get a 2nd floor or a single floor!!!. Cleanliness was OK but the kids beds were dusty it seemed. The cabin had a full kitchen w/enuf plates, etc. Rooms were hot unless you got breeze going into your window. Fans were around but didn't help much. one internet connection is given. A hot tub is around. The price seemed a lot to pay for three poor nights' sleep.

I would say it is a bit pricey but then it is a major tourist area so what do you expect! We did have a problem with one room (we had two) as the sheets were not clean, this was fixed right away and we had a good stay. I did the old trick of placing something on the floor and when we got back the room had been cleaned and the item was placed on the table. Yes there is no A/C but the thermometer does goes down low in the mountians. The one complaint was that there are ceiling fans in the rooms but no way of controlling them. They were not turned on and could have helped with the heat, but opening the windows did the trick quite nicely. Do not expect a five star but then you are not paying the five star rates for a resort area.

Looking for an alternative to a standard motel/hotel we picked the cabins as a welcome change on a long trip. The grounds, and cabins looked good from the outside, but once inside we were disappointed. "Climate Control" for the cabins is only heat, no air conditioning - a real problem in the summer. The management's response to the issue was to read us the cancellation policy if we decided to move to another local hotel. Eventually after a few attempts to resolve the situation, they provided a fan to help with the temp, but overall it set a very bad tone for our stay. We expected an upscale cabin experience for a higher comparative price in West Yellowstone and received much less. We recommend you pass, spend less and get more at one of the chains in town.

Opened what windows we could...Staff was very helpful and did everything to get our problems took care of...Housekeeping was Good...We did have sewer problems and we went to the office to use their toilet and they had sewer problems also......Our cabin was decorated very nice ....

The Hibernation Station looks beautiful on the website, but was very disappointing once we arrived and saw it in person. It was as though they spent money to make it look nice from the street, but did not put any thought into the enjoyment of guests once they entered a cabin. My husband and I were hoping to stay in a cosy, romantic cabin and were disappointed.

The roads between cabins were unpaved. There were big weeds growing up against most of the cabins. The room was not clean. Employees have to pull a red wagon between cabins with a few cleaning supplies to clean the rooms! The carpet, bathroom, bed linens, and towels needed updating. We had a kitchenette in our cabin, but I didn't feel comfortable cooking in it. Overall, this place needs some work! I would recommend staying elsewhere.
