“Bad”
Reviewed July 29, 2013

Worst restaurant experience . I was going to comment that owner is RACIST but after reading comments here she might be just over the top rude and crazy. There was confusion in order where we got half fries vs full so I ordered more. When I go back to counter to get something following are her words
"Cant you see my hand are busy, let me help this nice lady here then I will get to you". That was like something you might see in "what would you do?" show.

Food quality nothing special. it took 45 minutes to get burgers. they were out of buffalo burger or meat pies. beef burgers were just usual. frozen chicken strips and frys. NZ specialty pickled beets tasted like canned beet slices.
Somehow this owner thinks her cooking is so amazing that people are ready to put up with her. They need reality check.
Wasted 2 hours and $35 for chicken strips, fish and chips, and 2 burgers.
Avoid this place.

“Amazing burgers and meat pies!”
Reviewed July 25, 2013

The burger's are excellent and the meat pies are to-die-for. Try adding beets on the burger; you'll be surprised by how good it tastes. Ally, the cook, is slightly sarcastic and she speaks her mind. Tourists often find it offensive, but she means well and she's really quite nice once you get to know her. Like it says on her sign, "If you don't like it, bugger off".

“There's a reason the locals love this place...”

It's not every hole in the wall restaurant in a tourist town wear the cook and the waitress will take a break to come out and sit with you on the patio, hand out bumper stickers and coupons to cool places to go, and treat you like family. The best kind of family that you drink beers and shoot off fireworks with.

If you want fine dining and canned smiles, or fast food and rushed service, this is not for you. Move on. There's a Subway down the street.

If you want the best damn buffalo burgers anywhere, genuine smiles and real laughter, and a cook/owner who will dish a barb or twenty with her guests about Life, The Universe and Everything, here's your spot.

Not only do these ladies know where their towels are, they'd probably loan you theirs if you needed it. Not to be missed.

“Buffalo fare from a Kiwi Cook”
Reviewed July 17, 2013

Always enjoy eating here. The buffalo burger is the best in the area, ask for the works and extra mayo, steak sauce not available here. The fries are nice. The meat pies are a specialty. The owner/cook is a delight! Small, not fancy but consistently good food. It is expensive but so is everything else in West Yellowstone.

“Munching, Bison meat pies while watching buffalo in Yellowstone. Buwahaha”
Reviewed June 29, 2013 via mobile

Seems mean, but they had the most amazing flavor. We had stopped in the day before, for a late lunch before heading in to the park. My blue cheese bacon burger has to be one of the best burgers I've eaten. Hubby had the beef stew meat pie, he was in heaven after the first bite. So we ordered two bison pies for the next day. One with Swiss cheese, the other mushroom. The owner was there early the next morning baking up a storm, we took them with us. So glad we did, they were decadent. Off the beaten path, small home town feeling. What a treasure, only wish we lived closer so I could pick the pies up any time. The next morning before we headed for home we stopped in to say good bye, the owner is a colorful character and she made us feel like we had known her for ages. Can't wait to go to Yellowstone again, to enjoy the beautiful park and the fun people we met. Cheers
