“Unimpressed”

I can't hold the mosquito infestation against them, this is not their fault. I am however unimpressed in general. Mostly asphalt, very little grass, no pool, tiny playground where the kids have to wait in lines to play, and a down right odd internet policy... two hour per day limit. Clean, and friendly, but hot, due to all the asphalt, we would have left, if it were not for the fact that we are only spending a few hours each day here anyway.

We stayed at this campsite for 5 nights. We have been planning this trip for a year so decided to stick it out even though we had to stay in our trailer when ever we were at the campsite. But believe it or not when we were in Yellowstone Park itself touring there were no mosquitos that bothered us....only at the campsite. So we spent 9-10 hour days out at Yellowstone (which is easy to do) and when we came home we just went inside. But even doing that I still ended up with over 20 bites and that was using DEET. They didn't seem to care whether you wore Deet or not. They were very aggressive. We camped in Alaska in June 2008 for 3 weeks and never saw mosquitos like at this campsite. It is a really nice campsite, clean and nice people, but you will have to just know that you cannot sit outside at all (day or night). The computer situation was a problem too as we were waiting for emails from our kids back home at different times of the day and you only could have it for 2 hours. So we packed the computer up in the car a couple times in the day and headed to McDonalds that has free WiFi there.

We have never been in a mosquito plague like this one. This camp is clean and nice and was nearly at capacity. However, for the 18-hour duration of our stay, not ONE family was sitting outside - everyone was hunkered down inside their RV or tent, trying to avoid the swarming mosquitoes. We stayed inside all night and slept very little as the 50 or so that had made their way through the vents kept buzzing around our heads. Having an 11 and 16-year old trapped in an RV is miserable so we cut our three-day stay short, packed up and left the next morning. The campground refunded one night but refused to refund the other which is in keeping with their policy, so it's fair - and honestly sacrificing the money was worth it to get away from those bugs. They need to spray or treat the campground in some way if they want people to stay there.

Give Grizzly a try - but ask for an honest assessment of their bug situation first. West Yellowstone is awesome - but not quite as close as the Grizzly website makes it seem. Also, they have that funky wifi system where you get 2 hours of service every 10 hours.

We found the owners to be very helpful, pleasant and the park to be clean and well-run.
However, they might be well served to invest in 2 or 3 strategically placed CO2 mosquito machines. The problem was all over West Yellowstone but these machines could have made an oasis of sorts for the park. We were happy to see it in our rearview. Honestly, we live on a tropical barrier island half the year and have never been swarmed like this!

Our 3-night stay at this campground was completely spoiled by the clouds of ravenous mosquitos that swarmed us as soon as we stepped outside. This made me VERY nervous since a Yellowstone mosquito bite 4 years ago gave me viral meningitis. We're home now and I'm praying that the 30 or so bites all over my body don't sicken me again. It was pretty clear that they didn't put any money or effort into keeping all those mosquitos away, but they were happy to sell you a small can of Off for $8 at their store. We were also disappointed by their bathroom-cleaning schedules. They closed the two bathroom facilities nearest us from 8:30 to 9:30am every morning for cleaning, and every morning my family and I (and a lot of other folks) had to wait for them to finish before we could shower and start our day. The bathrooms themselves are very nice compared with other campgrounds we've visited, and of course I'm glad that they cleaned them daily, but it would have been preferable if they'd cleaned in the late morning or afternoon. They provide two consecutive hours of internet access per RV spot every 10 hours, but an hour and 45 minutes of that time was always spent waiting forever for pages to load only to be booted off when they finally finished. A couple of Wi-Fi signal boosters placed around the park would help a lot, but right now their system is nothing but frustrating. The park itself is generally well-maintained and the front desk personnel are very nice and helpful, but the issues listed above will definitely keep us from ever returning or recommending this park to anyone else.

Our daughter and son-in-law just (2 hours ago-6-21-11 1400 hrs.) pulled into Grizzly RV Park and were covered with mosquitos! They can't speak for any other campground(s) in the area but this was so bad they had to leave right AFTER arriving. The area has had a ton of rain and this is a problem. Call before you go and get a "return money" policy from any where there. Our daughter said it was "as bad as the time we camped near the Mississippi River" in the summer of '96. THAT WAS TERRIBLE! This review was given to me by my daughter who is there right now.

Very nice rv park.. Pricey. Really not close to anything in Yellowstone. May be better to stay at North Entrance. Another nice park there which is more optimally located to Yellowstone sights and animal watching. With that said, this park is newest of Yellowstone's private RV Parks. Caters to high end motorhomes, but also offers some family areas. If you want to stay in a tourist town, then this may be the location for you.
