Peaceful area with giant cedars. There are other giant cedar groves in Montana (around Superior, for example) but this has a nice walking trail and interpretive signs. Also, the terrain here is wet and lush - which is different than other areas. Several picnic tables. Restrooms are pit toilets (yucky). Pack out your own trash.

This scenic loop/hiking trail is absolutely beautiful. If you are visiting Troy, Libby, or even Bonner's Ferry, it is well worth the drive. The trail is cool on a hot day and easy enough for most levels of physical ability. The grouping of old-growth cedars is quite amazing. Beware that there are not many parking spaces, and signage getting there and on the trails is limited.

It was a very nicely groomed trail through a beautiful area, but there were 3 or 4 other groups of people there, which is a bit crowded for my tastes

There is nothing as beautiful as seeing such big ancient cedars growing in an area that is beautiful in itself. It's just so pristine and a pleasant sight to see. You walk along a nice path and your eyes will be feasting upon the beauty of all the cedar trees in this grove. They are twisted and shaped in several different ways and the sizes of these cedars are incredible!!!!! It is so worth the trip to go see these beautiful trees!!!!! What a lovely thing to see when you are out on a "Sunday" drive, just passing through, or simply wanting to see some ancient cedar trees!

This is a magical, beautiful place just 30 minutes from Clark Fork, Idaho. Easy access, level and well maintain paths.
