My husband and I decided it was just time to get out of town. So headed out and had no special plans. We just knew we wanted to get away. What a wonderful place we found in Trout Creek, Montana. John & Julie Harris are the proud owners of "Lakeside Motel and Resort" and they should be. What a beautiful location along the Noxon Reservoir and the Clark Fork River. We were fortunate to get a suite and what a beautiful suite it was. Full kitchen with all the amities of home. All the details in that suite were done to perfection. The best part was the Jacuzzi. My husband and I had a wonderful stay and I know we will be back and hopefully many more times. Oh ya, I almost forgot the Lounge and Gift Shop is taken care of with the same kind of love that they have with the resort. Employees were fun and very tentative to their customers. The price of the night stay was "Excellent" We will be back!!! Thank You John & Julie..

Room Tip: Come early enough and stay long enough to check the Clark Fork River out along with the beautiful ar...

We stopped at this little town for the night on our way through. The only place to stay was a small cabin here. I have to say for $150 per night, it was not worth it. The cabin is cute enough but the shower was terrible and if I plugged in my hair dryer it would trip the whole system and everything would go off. The wifi doesn't work either and the front desk doesn't offer any help in this regard. They pretty much had a "take it or leave it attitude". The blinds on all windows were so terrible that we were woken up by the light at 5:30 am. They leave notes in the kitchen that you should make the beds and do the dishes before you leave.... really?!! I would not ever stay here again.

Competitors friend or relative never stayed at our properties Connie W. We are booked usually a year in advance and have a waiting list. We do not leave notes in our rooms to have our customers do the dishes or make the beds. During our customers stay housekeeping cleans the room and makes the beds, dust and vacuum Unless a door tag No Housekeeping!
If the blow dryer kicks off the breaker or GFI, customers usually have called us an we check every thing out, replace what is needed! We have never been told the blinds were bad in our cabins, customers will call us if they break them , we replace them. House keeping checks the blinds to look for damage or faulty parts! We document our complaints to correct any problems no complaints on blinds or hairdryers. Yes, we have had problems from time to time on WIFI but always try to get it back up. A WIFI hot spot is in our restaurant on the property. Our son passed away in the spring but we always tried to address or had the staff correct, all or any situation that would arise!

We have stayed here 3 times now, and will be back for more. The cabins are very spacious and have full kitchens. You could easily stay for an extended period, although we have only be able to do one nighters so far. There are a couple places across the road to buy groceries and also a few places to eat that are walking distance as well as the gift shop where you sign in. (They have yummy ice cream at the gift shop!) This last stay, they had recently opened an area that houses a bar and has room for large groups/meeting, etc. The night we were there, they had pulled pork sandwiches and chips for free with our drinks. The grounds are beautiful and lush and you can walk down the slope to the dock on the water. It is so relaxing that you could stay forever. There prices aren't bad, and the people are so friendly and wiling to help with anything you need. Definately a place to remember when you are in the area.

Room Tip: We like the cabins instead of a motel room, although I'm sure the rooms are great too! We have...

If you are just travelling by or looking for a nice weekend destination this is a great place to stay. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The grounds are fabulous, walk to the river and read a book and just enjoy the mountain air. Everything in Trout Creek is within walking distance here. A great grocery store across the highway, and two bar/restaurants with great food close also.

Room Tip: Get a jacuzzi suite for that weekend getaway!

My husband & I stayed in the cabin at Trout Creek and enjoyed every minute there. The place is so well kept and the garden was a sanctuary. Really look at the pics! We were only going to stay one night but glad we made it two. We will definately be back to this rare find.

Room Tip: The Cabin by the lake was awesome

This motel is clean and has reasonable rates. The rooms are large and it is right on Noxon Reservoir. It also has a small sporting goods store and gift shop where the items are not priced outragously high like at most motels. I would stay there any time.

My husband and I drove through Trout Creek in June 2010 and were attracted to the area, so when we were planning our anniversary/ Fourth of July celebration, I booked us a room at Lakeside Motel. From the moment I made the reservation until we checked out, we had the most positive experience from the motel owners. We stayed in Room 101. I found the room very clean and comfortable. I was totally surprised when there was even a roll of paper towels on the wall above the microwave! That's just a minor but important detail about the place. We visited with the owner who gave us fishing tips. The night of the Fourth, we were told to go to the back yard which is a lovely park-like setting where the owners put on a fireworks demonstration, had a bonfire going, and served watermelon for the guests. It was very special. I love the flowers in pots and beds all around the motel and cabins. There is a beautiful view of the river from the back yard. Next door is a restaurant/bar where we had wonderful meals. The motel gift shop even offers ice cream cones--an essential summer treat! We are going back there for a repeat this year for our anniversary and have booked an August weekend for a family celebration of my husband's 60th birthday. More power to Lakeside!
