Nice visitor centre, good views of the are on the trail to the caverns. The caverns are well developed but you have to be flexible and duck under a lot of low spots going through.

Pros: The caves are beautiful. The tour guide was very good and the tour was interesting.

Cons: The tour was a little over two hours. Some tight squeezes and lots of stairs.

Visited this site with dear family friends. Steep hike so take plenty of water. Cave is very interesting. Small cramped spaces might make for a bad experience for some people. Very reasonable admission. The guides are extremely knowledgeable! This trip is well worth it.

L&C caverns are a great place to check when traveling through Montana. I have visited a number of times and had fun each visit.

Tours are about two hours. Start will a 3/4 mile hike up to the entrance with great views of the valley below. Then you get a guided tour through the caves. Tour is different each time depending on your guide. Lots of history and geology to be had. It's a fun adventure for the entire family.

A short uphill walk leads you past fossils to the cavern, which you can visit only with a tour guide. Nesting bats at the entrance were delicate and beautiful. Lovely and varied cave formations. The cave is very extensive, with multiple chambers connected by stairs for the most part. There are a few sections which require the visitor to stoop; at the beginning there is a small but interesting and fun natural slide between sections. Our guide was unfortunately more interested in humour and stories than nature, but perhaps others appreciated his style more than we did. In any case, he could not detract from the wondrous caverns. We also did a nice little hike in the park (Middle View Trail) down to the Visitor Centre. Great views and a slightly dusty hike through a unique semi-desert environment. We saw a jackrabbit. We did not do the short "Nature Trail" but read the brochure and it seemed as though it would be interesting. A nice excursion from Bozeman (about 1h drive). Bring a sweater. My husband teased me about wearing rain pants (not really necessary), but I didn't get a wet bottom on the slide! Watch out for $10 beef jerky at the cafeteria - we paid a bit more than we were expecting.
