I was by myself and had a delicious dinner, good service, especially recommend the soup! I decided to go there because of the reviews on trip advisor and I was very pleased.

A recommendation from the Sherlock Motel, Shelby, whose owner rang to book us a table, this was quite a find. Frequented by locals and on the Sunday evening we were there a coach party, the filet mignon was melt-in-the-mouth, the soup less inspired, and the apple dumpling highly delicious and calorific. As other reviewere have said, it is not cheap - about $75 for two.

Having travelled for almost three weeks through Montana's and Alberta's Canadian Rockies we hit upon a great place for dinner in a very little crossroads of Northern Montana. It's located in Dunkirk just about 10 miles east of Shelby, MT on Highway 2. Not on the Interstate, not fancy, and primarily frequented by locals. I haven't had a prime rib (16 oz.) this good anywhere except in Las Vegas. The chicken fried steak with gravy was super, and the corn on the cob was fresh and super sweet. Prime rib only on Friday and Saturday nights. A local chef putting out a great meal. Will not hesitate to return if we come this way again.

We decided to stop here for supper after reading other reviews. The outside of the building is a bit rough, but inside is fine and the meal itself was very good. We both had prime rib and it was excellent. 16oz was $26.

It's sort of funny that such great food is stuck in a dive Like this. The steak and salmon were very good. Fries are a victim of the main dish being so good though. I still can't get past how this was in a dive of a bar on the very out skirts of town. Prices are high.
