We had had a great visit here. The room was clean, the staff was very friendly and the breakfast was wonderful. Everyone was happy with their meals and we had a good night's sleep.

Someone mentioned that they are going to replace their rugs soon.

Thank you so much for taking the time to review our hotel. I am so glad that you had a good experience, and I look forward to sharing your kind words with our staff.

It is true, the entire first floor of the hotel is being re-carpeted this week, and we can't wait to see the results!

After many trips to Red Lodge (22 years in a row), we finally had the opportunity to stay at the Pollard this year. After the remainder of our group returned home this ski trip, we stayed a extra day and booked at the Pollard. We normally rent a house for these trips but have also stayed in other hotels in Red Lodge. We checked the internet for room availability and price. Checking on the Pollard website, prices for the Victorian Queen showed at $73, scrolling down a little farther the price went to $101. We decided whatever the price was we would try it out and stay the night there, The price was $101 plus tax. We ended up in room 212. The room was fine and clean, bathroom was clean and in good order everything worked fine and there was lots of hot water. This is a old western hotel that has been updated, it does not quite have the ambience and feeling of some other old western hotels we have stayed at (The Occidental in Buffalo Wy, The Grand Hotel in Big Timber Mt, as well as others), where things are basically unchanged since the early 1900s. That said, it a very nice property and most of the staff were very friendly. Special kudo's to the waitress in the Pub (blond girl from Fort Rockford). With the room you receive a breakfast in the morning we went down and ordered, there was one other person in the restaurant when we arrived and he left as soon as we were seated, two other people came in after we had ordered. The breakfast took quite a long time to come out (seeing no one in the place) and the waitress (C.G.) seemed a bit disinterested but other then some coolish eggs it was fine.

Final verdict, it was a cool place to stay, with a very convenient downtown location. While not having quite the ambiance of some other old western hotels, the renovations are all pretty classy. And meeting a great waitress in the Pub was a bonus and made our stay very pleasant. We would stay there again but if we just needed a room, would we would probably check at the Yodeler Motel for availability first. The Pollard should also update their website to show the correct room prices indicated in all areas.

Have a good one....

My fiancee and I stayed at this wonderful Hotel and met the greatest staff we have ever met any place we have stayed . The House keeping staff was very friendly and more than willing to say hello ,answer questions and kept the rooms spotless!!!Special thanks to Lee(?) and Tina(?). Also the breakfast server we had was awesome Again special thanks to Connie(?) and the cooks she waited on us hand and foot for 3 days . Thanks also to Callie (?) who made or pub time so great. As for the front desk Shannon & Melisa(?) are very nice and helpful. Also Briant(?) who answered all of our hiking ,snow shoeing questions and gave us a great history of the area and (even tho it wasn't his job scraped our windows and carried out our luggage ( thru 2 feet of snow to our rental car) . Now for the bad the rooms have poor mattresses and the carpets look a 100 years old and they allow pets, we had to listen to a dog yip for half of the night. The food wasn't bad but not the best in the evenings . As for the general manager he is rude to his employees and has no people skills . He yelled at one of the employees in the lobby and was very rude and should be sued by those employees for hostile work environment. I gave one of the employees my card if they needed a wittiness to his abuse. The employee just smiled and told me that it was fine . Well it wasn't that is the only reason we and our party have booked our wedding and reception at the Rock creek resort. Even tho the staff is awesome and we love the hotel( we have been coming for the last for years twice a year) we wont be back as long as the management is this rude and obnoxious to the employees!

Room Tip: Any room that is not near one of there pet rooms . We have stayed in 300 twice and it was great so i...

Last minute check found the Hotel completely booked for Valentine's Day (Friday) so we opted for the Sunday-Monday following. The Staff was great and we had another wonderful visit - our third in the last couple years.
The atmosphere is super. We love hanging out in the lobby with fireplace and comfy seating. The front reading lounge is also a very pleasant room to relax and enjoy watching activity on Main Street just out the window.
The package including breakfast in the Hotel dining room is also a great treat for couples not in a hurry to be off somewhere.

Room Tip: The Victorian Queens are very nice - but splurge a little and you will be beyond comfortable in one...

Our room was tiny, tiny television also. My boyfriend and I used their smoking area because we both smoke, the general manager was extremely rude with us about it, as well as the front desk clerk. They threatened us with a $200 fine for smoking in the room, which we did not do. I even offered to let the general manager come into our room to be sure we were being honest. We haven't even been here for a half of a day on our four-day stay and we already don't feel welcome here.

Thank you for taking the time to review The Pollard. I regret that you did not have a more positive experience at our Hotel.

Our smoking policies are strict for the comfort of all of our guests, but we would never want to make anyone feel uncomfortable or unwelcome. If this is the impression that you got when staying here, I would like to apologize on behalf of the entire staff. I hope that the rest of your stay in Red Lodge was enjoyable and that you might stop in again in the future.

My husband and I live within an hour of Red Lodge and decided to just drive over and stay for a night to relax, have a good meal, and enjoy the pleasant mid-winter warm up. We chose The Pollard because friends had suggested it. We were not disappointed! It is a beautifully refurbished Victorian-age hotel. Very clean (important to me), spacious, and peaceful. Loved that it was right in town so we could walk to restaurants and shops. Two restaurants in the hotel (and our stay included free breakfast). The staff is attentive and professional. Great choice and we'll be back.

Room Tip: We would have slept better except that the pillows were AWFUL. They were shaped like boulders (&quo...

I will stay here again, if I visit Red Lodge again. Breakfast was great, front desk was great, and the lounge was comfortable for an evening drink. The whole building, including the room we stayed in, was very nice and clean. We stayed in one of the smaller rooms, which was not really that small, there were plenty of room for two with our baggage.
