We got to Red Lodge late and had to leave early, but the highlight of the trip was the overnight stay at The Pollard. Our room was small but comfortable enough. Very small, but new, TV -- if you care about TV on vacation. The free breakfast alone was worth the price -- anything on the menu and it was all extremely tasty. But it's The Pollard People that make the stay worthwhile. Very nice and genuinely helpful, as opposed to "I'm going to wait on you because it's my job." These folks are nice and very efficient. I'm eager to get back ... and we will go back. Red Lodge looked like a great town; next time we'll take in more of it -- while we stay at The Pollard.

Friends had recommended the Pollard in conjunction with a ride on the Beartooth Highway after leaving Yellowstone. Beware! The reservation was made and paid in full in advance. There is a reason for this. As Dirty Harry would say, "Are you feeling lucky?". It was late May, snow had fallen, and between 10 and 20" more were expected overnight. We had to go around, the long way, because the mountain pass was closed.
Now the critique - the historic hotel is worthwhile, and has a library of photos and rodeo memorabilia. Dinner in the dining room that night was wonderful and cozy, because they work the magic of using folding screens to "shrink" the space for the number of reservations that evening. My husband and I sampled the elk and the bison, and both were perfectly prepared. The icing on the cake was complimentary breakfast the next morning, and it was so delicious that you could almost forget about the snow. We both had the crabcake benedicts.
The cherry on top, was that the room had terrific little alarm clocks, and although they could not sell me one, they directed me to the local Radio Shack where they had purchased them. I ordered mine over the phone, and it was waiting for me when we returned. Nice way to remember Red Lodge and the friendly people.

Room Tip: if snow has fallen, ask for a room in the back, so you don't hear the snowplows during the night...

Location is perfect for walking around Red Lodge. The ambience of the old hotel is also perfect--old stuff there but all the modern amenities and cleanliness also there. Upgraded room (to a small suite) recommended and the full breakfast (ordered off the menu) was fantastic.

we spent 2 days at the Pollard and enjoyed a great stay. The hotel as noted has been restored and has been kept up. Pleasant to stay in a hotel with character. We stayed for dinner for both nights and each night the food was excellent with no complaints or problems. We stayed in room 305 which was large with a balcony overlooking the lobby. The balcony had a small table with two chairs and made a pleasant place for an afternoon drink. The only downside was the snow over Memorial Day. A good side trip was to Cody and a visit to the Buffalo Bill Museum

My family stayed here. The history of the place was wonderful and the racquetball in the basement was great but the rooms were some of the worse on our trip. Very small, outdated, a mattress that slept like a sleeping bag on the floor, and a television that couldn't be seen from the bed made for a miserable night. The staff was great and the town interesting, but The Pollard was a disappointment.

My husband and I spent 2 nights at this location over the weekend. This hotel is beautifully restored in the lobby and common areas. The rooms was cozy, clean, comfortable and very nice, but not quite as elegant as the common areas. Spent the mornings reading the newspaper and sipping coffee in the reading room, it was so pleasant. Ate breakfast here on both mornings and the omelets were huge, go hungry or bring a friend to share. Since we were there on a Groupon offering, it was quite a value for us.

Nice place in an historic town. It is noise to stay I. The hart of this nice town. Lost to do with in walking distance. Breakfast is realign great and was part of our room package. It was nice being able to order off the menu. You get tied of getting a continetal breackfast, no so at the Pollard. Room was nice and quant. Place was clean and we do plan on returning.

Room Tip: No pool, but did not want one. Had a work out room and great bar and resturent. I would advise you b...
