We were there for one night coming from Beartooth hwy before heading into Cody. The place looks very good on the outside and the lobby area. The rooms were comfortable but they do need to update them. Stayed in rooms 156 & 256. There was a complimentary breakfast in the morning which could have have a little more selection. All they had to drink was coffee, no milk, orange juice. Had to ask for milk. It is good for a one night stay, but would not stay more than that, not for the price they charge.

Room was pretty basic but the grounds were pretty nice. We probably could have appreciated them if it weren't for the hair all over the sheets. We knew no one would be on staff to change them and because we were so cold, tired & didn't want to have to move to another room, we relunctantly just stripped the bed, turned the sheets & pillowcases inside out and had a very unrestful night's sleep. When we checked out in the morning and told the front end staff of the state of the sheets. We got an slight apology & they said they would let the cleaning staff no. I asked for a reduced rate or something & was told that the manager wasn't in. No effort was made to contact us afterward (they did have our mailing address). I sent them an email when we returned home from holidays aprox. 1 1/2 weeks later. I haven't received a response yet. Not impressed at all!

For the rate paid, the townhouse rooms were a bit of a disappointment. The rooms were okay, but a bit outdated and the beds were very worn and uncomfortable to sleep in. The playground was a bit disappointing for young children (no swings or anything at all for younger kids). The fitness area was small and didn't even have a treadmill or elliptical. The restaurant was a pleasant surprise and had a scenic view of the creek. The pool and hot tub were also great. Overall, our stay was okay but if I was going back to the area I would look elsewhere.

We spent one night here on 5 July on our way to Billings from Yellowstone for a flight to LA, based on the convenient location. The hotel was fine - large clean rooms with a seating area and chairs outside the doors - unusual for an American hotel we found. Had the weather been better, this would have been lovely for an evening drink. Our first room (113) was located adjacent to a bizarrely loud ice machine that we could hear in the room and which made the floor vibrate - never heard anything like it! The staff were happy to move our room however, and this helped. We paid $140 which on reflection was quite a lot for the room - there seemed to be many other similar hotels to choose from in the town for a lot less, if you just want a bed fo r he night,

The hotel has a nice indoor pool and mini gym with a Jacuzzi. Only thing to bear in mind I would say is the location - the hotel is not walkable to Red Lodge itself - it is about a 10 minute drive, so if you want a drink with your dinner and not to drive, you need to eat in the hotel's restaurant. We did this - the meal was average. We heard the neighbouring table complaining to the waitress that their food had been greasy and oily, and whilst they understood the chef was new, that wasn't acceptable. Make of that what you will. Our food wasn't particularly greasy, it was OK, but nothing special.

There are other hotels actually in Red Lodge if you want to stay there close to the restaurants etc, plenty of motels and so on, but Red Lodge itself isn't anything special, just a small town. If we could choose our hotel again in hindsight, I would choose to stay in Red Lodge for $50 less and near some better restaurants.

I have been staying at this property for the past five years and this trip (Valentine's Day) was the worst experience ever. I was told at the time of reservations that they had only one king/with one man jacuzzi tub for that night. They put us in the "Twin Elks" lodge and the room was not worth the $150.00 we spent~ the remote for the outdated TV did not work and the walls are paper thin. Needless to say, there was one other room (right next to us) on our floor who kept us up until 3:00 a.m. If you are travelling with family, I do not recommend this lodge. Unless I can stay in the main lodge, I will not stay here again. Also, they need to teach the front desk manners!

We spent several days at Rock Creek Resort over Christmas. We had a wonderful time. We stayed in a townhouse and there was so much room. We prepared a beautiful Christmas dinner in their fully staffed kitchen. The view out of our window was breathtaking. Service was great -- cleanliness perfect. I would definitely stay here again.

Stayed here during a conference for 4 nights. The location is wonderful. The creek side rooms have sliding doors that open to the roaring creek below, which in June with the snow melt was deafeningly loud. A bridge over the creek leads to a decent path (very pretty to start, turn back once you get to the forest unless you intend to go a long way, as the forest is pretty featureless). The hotel is 5 miles outside Red Lodge, so you'll need a car unless you want to eat at the hotel the whole time. I didn't eat at the hotel, preferring to explore Red Lodge. There was a great trail about 3 miles towards the pass (away from Red Lodge), which climbed the side of a mountain and gave views back into the valley.
As for the hotel itself, it's on the rustic and basic side. The room had plenty of space, felt ski lodge-ish, which it is in winter, but that means it's built to withstand the wear of melting snow from ski gear. The beds were adequate, the tv skimpy, , and the bathroom typical. The indoor pool is a nice touch.
I'd call this place more of a lodge than a resort. I stayed in the main hotel building. I didn't see the other buildings. It was a great place to be close to the outdoors. The meeting rooms were nice also, they opened onto a patio next to the creek, with windows all along that wall.
