We stopped here to get the huckleberry bear claws that everyone mentions, it was delicious, but my favorite was actually the feta/green olive biscuit, delicious. So many good things to choose from.

We stopped in for a quick visit on our way to hike. I felt like I had stepped back nearly 100 years of how people used to shop. I thought it was a neat experience. I got a cookie, which was wonderful.

Drive about 37 miles from the West Glacier NP entrance over the paved Camas Road and rough compacted dirt Outside North Fork Road to this general store, bakery and pizza joint. Small RVs are OK on this road. We got their in time for lunch.
Very popular but very overpriced as the owners take advantage of their location far from any other stores.
We paid almost $10 for one cinnamon roll and one huckleberry bear claw! There are limited camping supplies available at very high prices.

We happened upon the Polebridge Mercantile 9 years ago, as we walked through the door and were met with wonderous smells. We enjoyed fresh from the oven potato rolls, all warm and fluffy, and it was awesome. So when we returned to Glacier we made it a point to make the drive to Polebridge. What a let down. This time, there were no fresh goodies, no lovely smells. Just heaps of plastic wrapped rolls and whatnots, with no prices posted. Even though it was obvious that nothing was fresh from the oven, we picked out a roll and a bear claw for our hike snacks, and paid for them along with a couple trinkets... We were charged NINE DOLLARS for two old rolls! When we ate them a little while later, they were total garbage. We've had better sweets from convenience stores.

Too bad. A once good thing gone totally downhill.

We planned short Glacier getaway at Polebridge, even though we knew there were fires and smoke that might limit our activities.
Our host suggested we start our days at the Polebridge Mercantile because of their wonderful baked goods. We bought a breakfast sandwich each day (it was enough for both of us to share one) and then a sticky bun for our snack. Delicious!
They were a little high-priced but totally worth it as a special treat!
The staff is friendly, the options are many (very tempting), and the gift shop is fun, too.
We were there in the off-season, but they have also make pizzas in the high season.
It was also fun to wander their grounds.
