The picture tell it all. Just a little store out there in Nowheresville, USA. Gotta get out just to take in the ambience.

“The Merc's Baked Goods”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 4, 2014

I have been thinking about the Merc's baked goods a lot lately. Maybe all the snow and cold has me craving their amazing goodies. Maybe I'll have to go x-country skiing up to Kintla or Bowman Lake in Glacier Park and of course, stop in at the Merc for baked goodies. Several different kinds. If you ever find yourself near Polebridge, Montana I highly recommend you stop by the Mercantile and try their bakery items! They also have lots of other cool Glacier Park, Polebridge, Montana things you might want.

“Neat Place to Visit”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 12, 2013

Neat little store in a remote area. Great bakery and the aroma of the pastries will definitely grab you when you first walk in. Fun to stop and relax a bit for a snack.

“Great Bakery”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 20, 2013

This historic store has a very good bakery and is the perfect place to stop for lunch if you're hiking in this part of Glacier National Park. The drive is fairly rough since most of the road is not paved, so I wouldn't make the trip just to visit Polebridge Mercantile. But, if you're there for other reasons, there is no need to bring your lunch - a fresh baked stuffed "sandwich" or pastry is perfect.

“A piece of history in the middle of Nowhere, Montana.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 12, 2013

If you get lost in Montana or happen to visit the North Fork area of the Glacier Park, this place is not to be missed. It is part of the history and the folklore of the area. The bakery is the main attraction inside the store and the young bakers are doing quite a good job considering that the Mercantile is in such remote location. Take a cooked grizzly paw and you will probably gain too many calories that you can loose on your next hike in Glacier Park next door.
