The Ranch at Rock Creek
Certificate of Excellence
Reviewed July 13, 2013

We arrived at the ranch not knowing what to expect especially given the relatively high prices when compared to other ranches & resorts. However, the ranch exceeded our expectations in all areas.

We stayed at the Bear House with 5 bedrooms. The accommodation was very well furnished. Each room had very comfortable beds and good linen and blankets. The kitchen had all the cutleries necessary. We also had a washing machine & dryer which was great to use as we were out everyday and definitely needed a few changes of clothes. The fridge was fully stocked with drinks and they also had red and white wine in the house.

The food was much more European style with smaller portions but great tasting. Dinner was between 3 and 5 course meals depending on the night, but never felt hungry. Actually even with the smaller than normal American portions, we were always full. The wine pairings were good and the range of beers were excellent!

The activities were amazing and the staff always tried to do all they could do accomodate our requests. With 6000 acres of land, there is more than land to do all their activities on the property. We went shooting 3 times, horse riding a few times, fly fishing in the pond and in the creek, paint balling and also took a trip into town to do a ATV tour around the old mines and ghost towns. The most relaxing was a kayak trip on the reservoir.

The service overall was excellent. All their staff seemed genuinely very happy to work and be part of the ranch.

The ranch is set in a beautiful part of Montana and the ranch activities are spread over the property so that you often feel that you are out in the heart of the country. The tented cabins on the edge of a rippling river are a great place to stay. A short walk or bike ride to the lodge, but set so that you almost feel that you are alone. The guides were patient and good teachers even if you had no experience with the activity. The food was delicious. Cocktails at the the top of the world- a high point on the ranch where you can see for miles - was spectacular.

This luxury ranch was excellent. The property is spectacular, whether biking, fishing or horseback riding - we tried almost every activity and loved every single one. The staff were helpful and knowledgable no matter what the request or activity. The food is 5 star - from breakfast to the five course tasting with wine pairings with elk on the menu (yum). We stayed in the luxury 'glamping tents' - they are huge and decorated perfectly - plus falling asleep and waking up to the sound of the creek right outside the door is magical. They supply mountain bikes to get around the property with is fun and keeps the noise and dust to a minimum. Make sure you get up early and make the most of every minute there - it's well worth a visit... or three!

Gorgeous location, exceptional food, stimulating activities and the best customer relations we have ever experienced. Not to be missed. Riding, bikes, fly fishing, hiking, shooting, archery, all with experienced guides. Each meal was better than the last.

Room Tip: The tents are unique if you don't mind walking, otherwise the lodge.

This luxury dude ranch is absolutely wonderful. The staff was amazingly welcoming and accommodating of every request. Activities for everyone in the family. We stayed in the 'tents' on the creek, lulled to sleep every night by its soothing passage. Food was excellent. With room for only 80 guests, you feel like the you are the only ones around. Really cannot say enough great things about this place. Our group consisted of eight in their sixties and two in their twenties. We could have as much 'togetherness' or 'apartness' as we wanted. We fished, we rode, we shot, we floated, we hiked. We stood in awe of the scenery. We just had a really lovely time.

Room Tip: Would always want to book a tent. Canvas top, wooden floor, porch with rockers, full bathroom. The...

The Ranch is located on property that has spectacular vistas as far as the eye can see. You can access it by hiking..but better by riding one of the 50 horses they have at your beck and call with great trail guides to accompany you. The fly fishing is wonderful and the guides are great at instruction and charming to boot. Staff is consistently attentive and helpful...they go out of their way whenever possible and the food is fresh, innovative and plain delicious. We had the MOST wonderful time there and will certainly go back year after year.

Room Tip: See if you can get one of the tent cabins down by the river. Sounds rustic but it is very luxurious...

My husband and I just spent 5 wonderful days at the Ranch at Rock Creek. The accommodations were luxurious, the food fabulous, activities and spa were delightful! It was truly one of the most relaxing, fun, vacations we've ever had. I recommend the ranch for all, there's tons to do, I even learned how to fly fish! Had a massage and facial too! Men, women, and children will totally enjoy themselves at the ranch in Big Sky country!!
