“Lots of Room”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 14, 2012

This Doubletree is an excellent value for the money. We had a 2nd floor, 2 queen room with a usable balconey with furniture overlooking the river. It was a very large room with the 2 beds, desk and chair, end table with another chair, 2 suitcase-benches at the end of the beds, and an armchair with a good floor lamp. Lots of space left over. The shower was good, and there are two sinks. The restaurant is convenient, and you can watch the river while you eat. I will definately stay here again.

Room Tip: Try to get a river view room. It is worth the extra cost.

Missoula is a scenic town and the Doubletree showcases it at its best. Set right beside the fast flowing Clark Fork River, our ground floor King room had its own terrace and a direct river view. To add a signature touch someone was fly fishing nearby. The room had every comfort and the space was terrific, with a separate dressing room and beverage area beside the bathroom. With only the river beyond the windows, sleep quality was excellent. It helped as well that the bed was probably the most comfortable in North America! Our check in was friendly and fast. Being given warm cookies and coffee on arrival helped too. Breakfast was included and was served to the table. The food choice and quality was excellent and the 270 degree view over the river and the hill beyond made for a lovely setting for a meal. On checking out we were given more warm cookies "for the road."

This is a nice hotel tucked into a tree lined street and sits right on the river. The room is clean and comfortable and the hotel amenities are decent. I had a problem with their business center computers and couldn't print a boarding pass, but the desk person was more than helpful and printed one from her computer. The greeting upon arrival was second to none and I've found the staff to be extremely friendly and helpful.

I stayed at this Doubletree near the University of Montana for their annual spring football game. Although the hotel looks more outdated than others, the room was huge and comfortable and the amenities they offer were nice as well. The best part was that its located along side a river (forget the name) which offers a pretty scenic view as well as two mountains you can walk to and hike. The staff were very nice to me and their Restaurant, the Finn & Porter, was great, albeit a bit pricey. I enjoyed my weekend stay and would recommend this to others.

Room Tip: Get the river view.

Large clean rooms. Staff was friendly and helpful. Did not get a chance to try restaurant, but drinks at bar very expensive. Small bathtub, but big bathroom, love that there are two sinks. Beds were cozy. Patio off of room was a plus.

My husband and I have stayed at the Doubletree Edgewater in Missoula quite a few times over the last couple of years. Without exception, we have loved it. The location is spectacular, with one side of the hotel boasting river view that are stunning, winter or summer, ready access to riverfront trails, and easy walking access to downtown or the University (where the adventurous can hike "The M," a switchback trail with a stunning Missoula view from the top--don't forget your camera!). We have floated the North Fork of the Clark river and pulled our tubes out right at the hotel. The staff is friendly, helpful, responsive, and extremely competent. They do airport pickup/dropoffs and are generally happy to give you a lift elsewhere, and the staff is well versed on the area and can direct you to almost any place or service you need. Some rooms have been remodelled more recently than others, and those that have are beautifully done, but all are comfortable, appealing, and extremely liveable with outside access through sliding glass doors. The hotel provides free Internet access that is reliable and speedy, and can print for you if necessary. The exercise room is small but serviceable, but if the weather allows it's much more fun to use the great Missoula trail system and parks to get your exercise. We haven't used the pool or hot tub, but it looks clean and pleasant. The restaurant has a variety of meals and snacks for all diets and appetites--everything we have had there has been delicious, and I particularly like the "small" meal specials--a few delicious entrees for the smaller appetite, and at a lower cost that you would pay for a full sized entree. (And there are microwaves in the hallways if you prefer to grab dinner in the freezer aisle.) The bar menu has some interesting creations that are especially good served on the outdoor deck overlooking the river. Highly recommend the Doubletree Edgewater as your Missoula home base.

Room Tip: Ask for a river view room if available.

I have stayed here several times on my business trips from Spokane back to Salt Lake. On one occasion I brought my wife along as well. We enjoyed the stay. The rooms on the upper level facing the river are where it's at. The restaurant was decent enough if you don't want to explore town more for a better option. Years ago it was better, more fine dining and less of a bar food experience. But overall if you're staying in Missoula this will provide a good experience. The staff were very accommodating and the price was fair.

Room Tip: River side top level floors near an end
