“Best. Yet.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 18, 2012 via mobile

I have seriously eaten a lot of sushi in the last year. Anywhere I have traveled, I try the sushi. And this blew anything I have had out off the water. Toro, extravagant rolls, and sampler platters have nothing on this place's simplest rolls and nigiri. The salad and soup were some of the most flavorful I've had (while simple), and the rock and roll literally amazed me. They had escolar the night I was there, and it was great. Almost edged out hamachi for the title of best fish filet ever...

“$1 Sushi Mondays/Wednesdays”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 23, 2012

Good sushi for Missoula, Montana and Mondays/Wednesdays are $1 Sushi Nights! The sushi is pretty good, but they also have good sake and kirin beer! The spicy salmon roll is really good, as well as the spicy yellowtail roll. Just be careful, it's easy to rack up a decent sized bill! I'll definitely be back.

“On Saturday they had a cook but they needed a chef”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 21, 2012

Listening to the recommendations of many coworkers, I recently tried a late lunch at Sushi Hana. The dining room is beautiful; great windows with high ceilings, contemporary college music, huge art pieces, a good vibe overall. The menu satisfies any eclectic taste. I treated my guest to the tempura calamari, and she recommended the sesame orange chicken. The calamari was quite divine. They arrived very pale in color, but dipped in the sauce they were wonderful - thick pieces, lightly cooked, not rubbery or chewy. The cucumber salad was refreshingly tasty. The sesame orange chicken arrived deep brown and almost smokey flavored. The sauce tried hard to mask the burnt flavor but it couldn't - the sesame chicken was very over cooked. We were shocked that they served it and that they charged for it. A chef would have thrown it out and cooked another order. The cook wanted to get off work and just plated it and hoped we'd eat it. We ate part of it and left it for the dogs. I won't be back. She vowed to only eat there during the week when the chef is in the kitchen.

“Not West Coast Sushi”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 29, 2012

It is nice to be able to find Sushi in Montana, however, I have gotten spoiled in Vancouver, BC with the generosity of fish actually served on their Sushi. Portions are a bit 'skimpy' regarding the amount of fish provided at Sushi Hana, but the service is great and they do make a conscious effort to serve good Sushi!
