“Lovely Hotel and very near the airport”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 20, 2011

We stayed at this Hilton Garden Inn for one night at the end of our vacation. It is very nicely decorated, very clean, and the staff are friendly. We had breakfast in the morning which was very nice. While they recommend a restaurant for dinner that is adjacent to the hotel, we did not eat there. It was pricey and did not appear to be particularly kid-friendly. The indoor pool was clean and heated to a perfect temperature. The hotel is located on a main thoroughfare, so there are plenty of restaurants to choose from, and it is just a 10 minute drive to the airport.

This is our third year in a row staying at this property. It is always spotless, comfortable, friendly, secure and quiet.

Breakfast (free with coupon given to some people Hilton Honors etc) at $9.95 is a great selection of cooked to order pancakes, waffles, omelets, with nice variety of fruit, cereal, meats, etc. You will NOT go hungry! (Also available priced nominally per item if you are not a big breakfast eater).

We have stayed at about 8 hotels in Missoula in recent years, and the HGI is definitely the best, and priced fairly for what you get.

This is a pretty standard tourism/business hotel. I liked the free newspapers and water bottles on check in. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Close to some decent restaurants (give the Mackensie River Pizza Company a try if you happen to be in town).

Room Tip: Decent, standard hotel

The Hilton Garden Inn in Missoula has everything a traveler needs for a great stay. The rooms are spacious. The mattresses are heavenly. The Fitness room is one of the best I've ever experienced with a variety of weight machines, cardio, resistance bands, medicine balls - everything you could possibly want. The staff is friendly and very helpful.

Our stay at the Hilton in Missoula was great! The staff was friendly, the rooms were nicely decorated and clean. The breakfast was great, they offer a "light" breakfast for $4.95 and have bagels, fresh fruit, granola, yogurt and pastries... yum. Or a "hot" breakfast for $9.95 that has pretty much anything you want made right in front of you. Our cleaner, Ashley, was great! Location is pretty accessible to the freeway, a little far from down town in more of a corporate area but still accessible to pretty much anywhere. Side note: There is a hidden control panel on the side of the mattress that adjusts the firmness of the bed... didn't find it until the last day!

First let me say the lobby of the hotel was beautiful and check in was very quick, and the clerk was very nice and welcoming. We were very disappointed in the room. We decided to spurge for our Anniversary (and long awaited night away from the kids) and stay in the whirlpool suite. The room size was adequate, but not what one would expect for over $150.00 per night. The décor was very simple and something you would expect at a Howard Johnson. The TV in the room was an old box style that had to be at least 5-6 years old, if not older, with a very small screen. You would think at a Hilton, all TV’s be flat screens as shown on their website.

The whirlpool tub was very large and accommodating, but the facet on the tub had mildew on it which, made you wonder how long it had been since the tub was really cleaned.

The bed was the most UNCOMFORTABLE BED I have ever been on, which was very unfortunate since they boast about their Garden Sleep System beds. We did have to change rooms in the middle of the night since one side of our bed was stuck on one setting which made it very difficult to sleep on. The night clerk did find us another room and prorated our bill. We were sadly woken up at 5am by children running in the halls. I wish hotels would arrange families on separate floors from other guest who are not traveling with children.

When we checked out the next morning I wanted to make sure that maintenance was notified of the bed being stuck on one setting. The front desk clerk really did not seem to care about my comments as she was too busy gossiping with the other clerk. She didn’t even ask us how our stay was. Overall the hotel was a HUGE disappointment. Next time we will be staying at the C-Mon Inn.

Room Tip: Do not get the whirlpool suite

We stayed here while visiting UM. Hotel is just off freeway near other business hotels, several dining options (IHOP, Perkins, Johnny Carinos, fast food outlets) and a half mile at most away from a Costco with gas. Hotel sits on a hill and you have a nice view of the city/valley if you have a southern exposure room. Even though UM is on the other side of town it was only a couple of minutes by either freeway or Broadway. Rooms were immaculate and quiet. Layout and furniture was normal Garden Inn issue stuff, but the stone tiling in bathroom was a nice difference. Was pleased with our choice.

Room Tip: Ask for an upper floor looking away from freeway.
