I got the jambalaya. Decent, very spicey, but nothing to write home about. The bar atmosphere is great, so just adjust your food expectations.

The Dinosaur Cafe is hidden away at the back of bar with no name boards so hard to find unless you ask. The food is really good and used by locals especially at lunch. The bar and the cafe are very friendly with some interesting people!

a friend came to visit after i relocated from portland to missoula. transitions, transitions... and charlie b's/dinosaur cafe (same place for all you not knowing where was the perfect place to go for people-watching, spicy food and beer! BTW: best bloody mary i've had in YEARS. would suggest to anyone wanting to experience the vibe of the older missoula - plenty of younger hotspots out there. only FYI advisory: 'smoker's white' on the walls and ceiling, and although non-smoking bar you can smell the old cig's a bit in the air.

but do go and enjoy! (and grab some yummy cajun food)

The Dino is a Missoula classic. Cajun food and burgers at a long table in the back of Charlie B's, a classic dive bar.

If you are hankering for some great fries, tasty fat burgers and/or a po' boy sandwich for a reasonable price, this is the place to go. But remember folks, this is a dive bar, don't be expecting any fancy restaurant ambiance.

I will be driving back from Whitefish just to eat here. I'm from Texas and lived in Louisiana for a while and I'm SUPER picky about my southern food. This place nailed it. It's in the back of a bar, but who cares. They pour great drinks! I had the fried chicken with real mashers and gravy, cornbread and green beans for around 7bucks. Outstanding. I also had their gubolya and it was awesome. So good I went back to the order window and got some to take home as well as their red beans and rice (both are 3.50 for a cup and 5 for a bowl) Thank you so much for making my trip!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
