“World travellers - fabulous experience!!”
Reviewed September 1, 2013

The cabins were neat and clean and the staff were very courteous and professional. We have travelled all over the world and the quality of food in the restaurant at Yellowstone is definitely World class. We drove down from Canada and had a wonderful experience.

When reading this, take into account that my girlfriend and I are spoiled/blessed with the finer things in life...ie 5* hotels, restaurants. Fantastic staff that give their time selflessly.....all former park employees that know the ins and outs, times and tricks to navigate the parks and crowds. The cabins and place are represented honestly by it website pictures....basic, well decorated and clean. We are foodies (chefs) and picked YVL because of it's fresh organic local cuisine. That which wasn't local (ahi tuna) was flown in by Federal express. When we posed the question of, "how fresh was the tuna?" the prompt of answer of "It was swimming off the coast of Honolulu yesterday morning" was enough to show us the pride the chef had in his art. We ate here 4 out of 6 nights and walked away in bliss each time. Alright enough said...I need to get back to work. Yes we would stay here again in a heartbeat!

We booked expecting the location to carry the day, but the cute cottages in a dramatic setting were just the beginning of a wonderful stay!! The cottages were nicely done with fixtures and furnishings designed for a cozy night of sleep on the river! The cottages each have a private deck that makes the river seem to be all yours!! The view of this river valley is incredible!
We had heard about the Yellowstone Valley River Grill, and we were NOT DISAPPOINTED! The setting is intimate and lovely. The staff is knowledgable and professional. The food prepared using locally grown ingredients. The wine list is sophisticated, and the staff knows the wines and their nuances very well. The food was AMAZING! The presentation was elegant, but the preparation was quite simply...perfection! We haven't had a meal that good in a long time! We want to go back again next summer!

Room Tip: We had one of the first cabins. We liked our cabin. I wouldn't say there was a bad cabin in th...

We've said it before and we'll say it again, those private back porches on the river are really nice. And all of our cabins have one. We'll be sure to let the restaurant staff know about your great experience there. Your kind reviews really keep us going. THANK YOU!

Cabins are basic but clean. There is a back porch for every cabin that overlooks the Yellowstone River with mountains in the background. The porch is a great place to relax and enjoy the view. Or you can walk down to the river to fish.

The restaurant is Fantastic. You expect great steaks in Montana but don't expect sashimi grade fish and wonderful deserts. The restaurant is open air with the same great view. The wait staff is very friendly and professional.

We were there on a fishing package that included meals and three days of guided fishing. It was a solid value and great experience.

We think that one of the best parts of our Lodge is your own private back porch to listen to the river go by. The restaurant chef and staff always like to hear the good words about the Grill and food. And many thanks for joining us for a fishing package, always a good time. Come back again for some good food, fishing, and relaxation.

Perfect place to relax, fish, enjoy the river and have a delicious meal. Close to some great hiking, the view from the deck cannot be beat and the deluxe cabin was perfect for our family of 5 adults.
The kitchen was well stocked and efficient.

Loved this place that we stumbled upon. Gorgeous view, lovely people, fabulous cottage, great bed, great food. A winner of a place to stay and relax. The restaurant is very well rated, and was spectacular. It has the most beautiful deck and views of the river and valley. Met many locals eating dinner here.

The cabins were clean and pleasant with the patio overlooking the river. We watched an Eagle several mornings!! The restaurant was incredible - certainly a 5 star in our opinion. Once evening fresh fish was Fed Ex'd in from Hawaii for the dinner specials. The chef did amazing things with the flavors and presentation. Waitstaff was also excellent.

Room Tip: All cabins face the river so no poor choice here.

It's great that you were able to see our resident bald eagle; he (or she?) is a bit shy. The chef and the restaurant staff thank you for your kind words. See you next time!
