We travel to Lewistown several times a year and discovered this gem because of the restaurant. What a wonderful job remodeling and upgrading. The food was very good, the staff helpful and well informed and the hotel will be our destination in the future. The price better than the only other real option in town.

Room Tip: This is a small botique hotel, with no pool.

We were in Lewistown for a family function in mid-July and stayed at the Calvert. Overall, we had a very pleasant stay. The staff was extremely attentive and eager to please. They have done a nice job of renovating the old building and everything was kept in good order and very clean. We did not have a chance to eat at the bar/restaurant downstairs, but the menu seemed interesting and reasonable. The owner gave us abit of a tour and the bar itself is a must see - the lighting through the opaque stone is very neat! The owners appear to have invested alot of time and money into the place, so hope that they make a go of it. Would definitely recommend it to anyone staying in Lewistown.

We very much enjoyed this updated historical motel with it's airy high ceilings, pristine white tile bathroom, comfortable bed and bedding, lovely old armoire, and nice flat screen tv. The downstairs dining room had a very nice menu with reasonable prices and the service personnel were excellent. The continental breakfast was typical, but seating in the small lobby was very limited. We could have taken the food out to the patio tables in the front however. All in all, an exceptionally pleasant stay.

We were pleasantly suprised to see that the hotel and room lived up to our expectations, and even exceeded them. The rooms were new, the pillows super comfortable (as were the beds), and everything was clean. Would definitely stay here again, and maybe even come to Lewistown just to stay here.

I have a need to travel to Lewistown several times a year, and until recently there were almost no choices of any merit. The Calvert has changed that. The owner has remodeled (rebuilt) the Calvert from the ground up, and has obviously spent some time in some very fine hotels. The rooms are in keeping with the turn of the century decor, but with free WiFi and a 47' flat screen on the wall you don't sacrifice modern amenities. There is hand laid tile in every room, and the pedestal sink and sconce lighting over the beds are a fine touch. The beds are comfortable and clean, the prices are reasonable, and the staff is friendly. Plus they honor GSA for federal/state travelers. There really isn't another choice when you need to stay in Lewistown.

Thank You Tripadisor....the reason why I chose this hotel.
Defineatly a good place to stop in between the larger cities of Montana. As I pulled up to the hotel on a Friday evening I was really surprised to see 20-30 people milling about clearly there for a wedding. I thought " well its too late to go anywhere else" and I really hoped I would get some rest and not get caught up in the wedding party.
The only downside to the stay was that the wedding party filled the on site restaurant and bar so I had to go elsewhere for dinner but the fact fact they had a place to eat on site was a big reason I chose this hotel; oh well.
The bed was very comfortable, the bathroom was nice, and I chose an upstairs room and really did sleep very well.
It is an old hotel but has been updated with flat screens and farily large bathrooms with a nice tub & shower.

My party of three spent two nights at the historic Calvert. The room was spacious and clean. I liked that the hotel was more or less on a side street. Staff was friendly. A continental breakfast was served, which is very handy for getting on the road.

The only deficiency, which cannot be remedied, is the thin wall between rooms. Fortunately, my neighbors did not stay up past 10 p.m. watching television. Never-the-less, I will definitely stay here again.
