We were in the area for a wedding in Whitefish, but decided to stay in Kalipell because there was more to do (and no Taxes since Whitefish is a resort town and they charge sales tax) and we booked late, on a long weekend. Big mistake. This was the last decent hotel left. I didn't realize we booked into the Swift Current Suite, so when we got to the room we were definately suprised. It wasn't really a suite, more like an extra large room with a sitting area, but it was still nice. Lots of room, and it was clean! The bathroom was a little small, but it did the trick. We had a flat screen tv with HBO and music channels, a mini fridge, microwave and toaster. We asked for an iron and ironing board and were given them right away, so that was nice. The bed was really hard, but there were 2 pillows each (Even though I travel with my own, it was still nice) and they were very comfortable. The overall theme was country-ish, I guess, and there were antlers holding up the coffee table.
Overall it was a nice room, but I think it was overpriced since it was the long weekend.
Shopping was awesome though, and the $5 Midnight movie at the Theatre was great!!

This hotel has been Days Inn, Glacier Peaks Motel, and now, America's Best Value Inn. It is still a solid choice for inexpensive lodging. The shower heads have been raised higher. The tub/shower combo is the same. The width of the tub varies from 21" to 23." Part of it is enclosed by a wall, but the larger part has a shower curtain, allowing some elbow room. The tub/shower was spotless, including the shining white caulking. The Waterpik massaging showerhead with about 6 settings was delightful and worked well. They have a water softener. The room was very clean and the carpet appeared clean and did not make my slippers dirty. The hallway carpet looks like it could use a shampooing or perhaps it's just old.

I scoped out the room layouts and parking. There is no elevator, and since the motel is on a sloping site, there are small sets of stairs here and there. If you want to avoid stairs, there are a fair number of first floor rooms with a nearby door to outside and no stairs. The first floor REAR rooms have parallel parking by them, rather than head-in.

There was hair drier, soap, and shampoo in the room. A sign at the desk said to ask if you wanted a coffeeemaker for your room. There was coffee available in the lobby. Continental breakfast is the absolute minimum.

The parking lot is very tight. However, I have a friend who brought a school bus full of athletes to stay at this motel. I asked how on earth he managed to park. He said the motel put up cones to provide a space for the bus. So I think if you have a big rig, ask, and they can probably accommodate you. He was there in the summer when I would think they were fairly busy. In spring and fall they don't have as much business so there's a lot of empty space in the parking lot, although maneuverability is still tight.

The employees were very friendly and helpful. I got a very good rate online, less than I paid 2 years ago. This motel has the best room lighting of any motel of I've ever stayed at, in any price range. I don't see well in dim light in general and also like to read in bed. There were 3 independent sets of bright cove lighting in the BR plus a bedside lamp plus bright lighting at the sink plus the bathroom light.

There are a number of table and chair sets in hallway alcoves throughout the motel, a nice touch. The only negative comment I would have is that there are not fridges or microwaves in the rooms, but at this price, I managed without (maybe they are available in special rooms, I don't know).

While I would recommend this place for a romantic anniversary, the rooms were clean and the staff helpful. The showers are really small, as is the parking lot (don't come here with a big vehicle!) But we found it a great value on our tight budget - we'd definitely return!
