“Nice hotel, good location”
Reviewed July 23, 2013

The hotel was easy to find upon entering into Kalispell. Location is good as it is attached to the mall. We had a hard time finding a decent place to eat nearby but we were wanting to sit on a deck. The rooms are small. The first room they gave us smelt like smoke but they quickly moved us to a different room upon our request. Pool is good. Firepit and courtyard is a nice touch. Breakfast was fantastic! Bed is comfortable. Fridge and microwave in our standard queen room.

We were so impressed with the friendliness of the staff at the Red Lion Kalispell. They made sure all of our questions were answered and helped us with making sure we saw everything we wanted to see at Glacier National Park.
The room was great! The bed was amazing. One of the best nights sleep I have ever had.

We are so pleased to see yet another satisfied visitor to our wonderful area. It’s no wonder that Glacier National Park keeps breaking the 2 MILLION visitor mark year after year. If you ever plan on returning to our area keep in mind that booking ahead is always recommended and we LOVE having return visitors! :-)

We arrived here late around 10.45 pm. Our travel agent had requested a room on the higher level but we were placed on the ground floor. We were very tired so went straight to our room. I was not best pleased to find we were exactly opposite the pool which was only just emptying for the night. For a while it was rather noisy. I also noticed our room had a funny smell. It was supposed to be a non smoking room but after I'd turned off the outside air to the air con unit the smell faded. Whether or not there was someone smoking outside or nearby I do not know. We also noticed that as well as the lighting being poor there was a bulb out. We called the front desk and a maintenance man came. He checked then left with the bulb and a few minutes later was back with a new bulb. After this did not work he checked the plug and wiring. It transpired that someone - housekeeping had removed the plug from the correct socket!! Anyway all sorted we could then settle down for the night. We slept well as we'd been travelling for about 6 hours and were exhausted.
In the morning we went looking for breakfast. We asked at reception and were pointed in the general direction. We walked for ages and turned back to the front desk. he said we'd been going in the right direction so off we went again. We eventually found the breakfast room. It would be much better if there were signs posted along the way.
The dining are was extremely busy with one family wreaking havoc as their two boys were allowed to run wildly around whilst the adults ignored their behaviour. The staff had difficulty keeping up with the demand for the food and some areas were not restocked.
Having said that we did manage to find enough to eat.
If you are in a hurry and it is busy you may need to go for the prepared eggs and not wait for the cooked to order eggs.

Room Tip: Rooms better on the higher floor

Great location in downtown Kalispell. Family suite was spacious for all 6 of us! Pool was nice. Breakfast was fantastic with a chef making omelets. I thought it was over priced, but chose it for the space. Will consider again, but may look at others.

Although centrally located and thus easy to walk downtown for dinner or a good cup of coffee at Montana Coffee Roasters, this is a large, mostly worn hotel that's had some details "lifted" (new furniture, tv, granite counters in bath) to make it look new--or at least newer. Breakfast is good, another plus. But beware the thin walls. We have what must be a family of six in the room next door with a baby who started crying early this morning and has continued. if this were a cheap Motel 6 or something, these negatives would be fine -- but not for $200 a night.

We were visiting family and friends over the 4th of July weekend in Kalispell and on down the road near Swan Lake, and our "nights" were spent at the Red Lion Hotel.
It was a very pleasant place to stay and the rooms are decorated very well and the beds and bedding are great. We also enjoyed the quietness of our room even tho
we were streetside to parking at the mall. I am not a breakfast person, but members
of the family who went down to the breakfast said it was very good. Rates are a bit
high, but it is peak season and to be expected..... Overall fine stay....thanks!

Room Tip: we enjoyed our ground floor room except for the "busy" upstairs guests above us...so if qu...

Very centralized location. Very clean and pet friendly which is most important. Rooms were perfect size, actually a lot bigger than i had thought. The breakfast was much better than the typical continental breakfast! And it was really quite and peaceful on 3rd floor. Very pleased.
