The hotel is well located within walking distance of downtown restaurants and attractions and close to US 2 and US 93. The exterior and interior decor are very attractive and the hotel is connected to a small shopping mall, although wandering the main street is a better choice for commerce.

The staff is a bit disengaged but fully adequate. Rooms are spacious and well appointed. The hot breakfast is included and among the best we've ever had in a small town hotel. The elevator was not functioning during our three-day visit, which was the only problem and that, we assume, is temporary.

Overall, I recommend this hotel without reservation, although the Hampton Inn down the road is nicer. Compare prices and if Red Lion is significantly less expensive, book without fear.

The staff is friendly and courteous. We were consistently going up to the front desk to ask for directions to places we wanted to go, to get their advice on places to eat, where to go to find things we were looking for to buy, etc. And every time we went up there, there was at least one person there to greet us and answer any questions we had. If they didn't know the answer, they told us who to talk to to find a solution.
We had a small problem with our room key and when my husband mentioned it to them they were right on it making sure we didn't have anymore problems.
The maid staff was also very friendly and helpful. They kept the room neat and spotless and we were very content and comfortable when we got back to our room to unwind each evening. The hotel is very clean and well maintained.
The interior is beautiful and they have a courtyard you can lounge in and watch the goldfish enjoy the gentle waterfall.
They also have a workout room if you want to use it. I didn't get the chance, though I wanted to very much.
They serve a continental breakfast each morning from 7 to 9 A.M. Monday through Friday and 7 to 10 A.M. on the weekend. I personally can't eat until after 9:30 to 10 in the morning, but they had no problem with me fixing myself a plate, taking it back to the room and heating it up in the microwave to eat at my leisure. They fix eggs and omelets however you want them. They even had Prime Rib you could put in your omelet one morning and of course my husband had to try that out.
The hotel is attached to the mall so you can go straight from your room to shopping in the mall without even going outside.
There's a refrigerator, microwave, flat screen T.V. with remote and the decor in the rooms is reminiscent of being in a log cabin in the forest.
Quiet, natural and peaceful.
Also they are centrally located downtown so we were able to walk just about everywhere we wanted to go.

We were planning on spending 3 nights Kalispell so I reserved a room at the Travelodge. While driving into Kalispell from Missoula, we passed Red Lion and both said, "I hope where we're staying is as nice as that place looked." After checking in at the Travelodge and getting to our room, we quite as pleased as we'd hoped. So I called over to Red Lion to see what their rates were and it was only $10 more per night. I immediately reserved a room for our 2nd and 3rd nights in Kalispell and we checked out of the Travelodge the next morning. Our stay was great. The check-in was quick and seamless, and the rooms were clean, quite and comfortable.

The breakfast was very good. I read where someone earlier complained about having a tip jar at the omelet bar. Why?? You have a cook waiting to make you a made-to-order omelet. You cant tip him/her a couple of bucks?!?

An added bonus (for my wife anyway) was that the hotel was connected directly to the mall. We could wake up, shower, eat breakfast and take our 6 month old daughter for a walk around the mall all without ever leaving the hotel.

My only complaint, and this really wasnt much of an issue for us, was the pool was freezing! I'm guessing it wasn't a heated pool. We wanted to take our baby for her first swim while there, but it was way too cold for her. No problem, though. We just got into the hot tub for a half hour instead.

Glad we found this place. We're planning on visiting that area again late in the summer or early fall and will definitely be staying at this hotel.

Stayed 3 nights at the Red Lion from May 6-8 inclusive. Great location attached to the mall. Room was clean and well appointed. Bed was quite comfortable. While we were there, they were in the process of installing all new armoires in the rooms to accomodate new tv's. The current tv's are old crt models. Our room was quiet even though we were next to elevator. Maybe partly due to fact was shoulder season so hotel not full.
Breakfast was included in our stay and it was excellent. Lots of hot and cold choices so everyone should be able to find what they want to eat. The folks making the omlettes did a great job and the setting the breakfast was served in was very nice.
Did not use the pool or hot tub but they looked ok. The central couryard was nice and there was a fire in the firepit at night. Nice touch.
Everyone we met in the hotel from the room maids, to breakfast personnel, to the folks at the front desk were friendly and cheerful. Overall great value here in my opinion.

Our flight out was canceled and rescheduled for the next day. The airline put us up at the Red Lion. The hotel crew went out of their way to make sure everyone was taken care of. Including scheduling 2 vans to get us all back there at 4am to make the next flight! Great customer service from the girl at the front desk. We were put in the nice big rooms with all amenities. I would come back and stay in a heart beat. Clean rooms, free WiFi, comfortable beds. No problems.
