“A good family run business but could improve”
Reviewed July 27, 2013

This is a new place (opened in October 2012) and a fantastically restored old forge. However some elements of unprofessionalism which, if improved, would earn this a far higher rating.

Pros:
Good location in historical Kalispell
Great decor inside and out with lots of vintage and authentic paraphernalia on the walls
Food and coffee is good quality
Easy parking

Cons:
Servings are small sized. We had their recommended quiche which was good BUT tiny.
Service was not good enough compared to other places in the area; a lot of chatting with the kitchen staff while tables were not being served and other people were trying to get their attention.

With improved service and larger portions this would easily be a 4 rating.

“Don't Judge This Book By It's Cover, Its a Great Place to Eat!”
Reviewed July 21, 2013

From the outside, this out-of-the-way jewel looks somewhat like an abandoned old saloon without windows. It is NOT a run down bar and the inside is charming and suitable for families of all ages, tourists, friends, and date-nights. The Forge has an A+ rating from the health department and the staff can be seen cleaning constantly between taking orders and manning the cash register.

It can be hard to find excellent food in Kalispell that doesn't come off of the Sysco truck. Most of the food here is home made and well seasoned. The meats are fresh and tasty. The breads come from the local Ceres Bakery in Kalispell. You don't have to drown their hamburgers in Catsup to enjoy the flavor. The Ruben has homemade kraut on it and it was so good we brought extra home. This is not fancy food but it is great. We are looking forward to trying new things on the menu.

“Definitely must eat here while in Kalispel”
Reviewed July 18, 2013

Great, fresh food! We had the Ranger sandwich and the chicken salad flatbread - both were amazing! Also the salad that came along was just out of this world. The same veggies you get other places, but they tasted so fresh it was out of this world. Loved this place. We would have eaten here twice on our trip if time allowed.

“Local flavor with country atmosphere!”
Reviewed June 12, 2013

We discovered this place through Trip Advisor. The Quiche with ham & eggs were made with homemade pie crust...can I just say yummy!! Hubby had "The Treasure Hunt"....biscuits, hash browns, fried eggs all smothered with sausage gravy...he really enjoyed it!
Service - was sweet Montana folks! They were so appreciative of our tip & seemed really surprised...come on patrons tip them well! They said lunch time is really busy & hard to serve quickly.
Sit at the bar & you can watch the chef cook your food. They have a place for local musician talents. Thank you for a wonderful breakfast!
