We really enjoyed our stopover in Kalispell; the Grand's refurbished rooms, although a little small, were comfy, great beds and linens, nice decor. Cookies and popcorn in the evening and very nice breakfast in the morning.

This is an historic downtown hotel, so the atmosphere is terrific. The rooms, which were no more than the chain hotels on the edge of town, were tasteful, roomy and very comfortable. You can walk around downtown after dinner. The staff was incredibly friendly, and the continental breakfast was delicious. The folks who run the hotel make the tasty breakfast breads themselves. We stopped on the way home from Glacier National Park and kayaked the next morning on Flathead Lake, all of which was a wonderful way to end the vacation.

OUr room at the Kallispell was quite large, on the end of the building. We both remarked upon entering the room that it felt a lot like an office. Blinds on the windows and the desk against the wall made the whole room seen very functional, but not at all quaint or luxurious. The bathroom was small and showed signs of abuse - the tank lid was cracked and glued back together and paint was peeling from too much moisture. The lobby and hallways have been nicely updated and the remodel did a lot for the ambience of the place, but the service staff was unremarkable. The clerk at the front desk didn't ever look directly at me...not once! Breakfast the next morning was simple and there was only a few tables at which to sit down and enjoy a cup of coffee. All in all, just an unremarkable hotel which I will probably forget about pretty quickly. Not bad, but not great either.

While I can't complain about the Grand Hotel, I can't rave about it like the other reviewers either. The rooms are smallish due to the age of the building. My room had a king size bed that almost filled the entire room. Not as small as most European hotels, though.

I left a USB cord in my room that would have cost 40 cents to send to me. The hotel wanted my credit card number for the "shipping charges." Two nights for $230 and they wanted my credit card for 40 cents. That says lot about the hotels attitude.

The free breakfast was okay but there wasn't much room to sit and eat it. I'd probably stay somewhere else next time I'm in Kalispell.

One housekeeping nit, they did't clean the toilet or replace the glasses.

The owners have done a remarkable job with this gem of a hotel. They have totally refurbished a beautiful old historic hotel with modern comforts. The rooms are spacious and clean, with comfortable beds. We had a large bathroom with a jetted tub. The staff couldn't be friendlier. Homemade cookies in the afternoon, a continental breakfast and coffee in the morning. They even allowed me use their computer behind the front desk to check in for my flight the next day. All in all a great stay -- and it's located in a nice historic downtown.

Historic hotel with great staff that made you feel at home. Every am the kids looked forward to the fresh baked goods. Every pm they treasured the fresh baked cookies. It didn't matter that there wasn't a pool or flat screen t.v's- the 4 star hotels we stayed at on this trip couldn't compete. We liked the set up of the family room. We would definitely return to the Grand Hotel. Beautiful oak staircase. No complaints.

We stayed for 3 nights at the Kalispell Grand while visiting Glacier NP. Our room was a standard king which faced the side street (not Highway 93) and had a single shower (no tub). All in all, for what we paid, it was an excellent value. Service was exceedingly friendly and our room was very clean.

As other reviewers have noted, the rooms are not fancy. The shower was tiny and the room a little noisy without the AC running. However we very much enjoyed the charm of the old building. Great hospitality with homemade cookies in the afternoon and a decent continental breakfast in the morning.

The only place we ate in Kalispell was Mostly Mooses, the dive bar just down the street that serves excellent pizza. A must-see in Kalispell! Both Bigfork and Whitefish are about a 20 minute drive away and offer more eclectic dining options than we were able to find in Kalispell.
