Lovely "olde tyme" historic hotel, great rates, beautiful decor, incredibly friendly staff, close to everything! I must admit, it's been about a year since I was here, so this review is long overdue, but if I remember correctly, they always had complimentary popcorn and fresh-baked cookies in the lobby, as well as a satisfying continental breakfast, with homemade quiches, pastries, fruit, yogurt, beverages. Our room was small, but cute and had everythign we needed. The staff were so helpful in suggesting restaurants, things to do in the area and were genuinely friendly to my pup—always came out from behind the counter to greet him, give him a treat and scratches behind the ears—not simply "tolerant," as many "pet friendly" hotels can be (seriously—some chains call themselves "dog friendly," then stick us in stinky smoking rooms, plaster signs all over the property saying, "Keep pets off lawn!" with no nearby alternatives to take a dog out to stretch his/her legs/eliminate, other than the littered median in the middle of the highway running right next to the hotel! True story, btw . . .)

Loved the grand, ornate staircase, the soaring ceilings and beautifully restored decor. Lots of interesting people coming and going, a very welcoming lobby to sit and read a paper, chat with a fellow traveler, or just rest a bit. For offering so many amenities, the rates were a steal, and I'll definitely stay again, when I'm in the area!

We recently spent two nights at this hotel. It is in a very central location in town. The staff was excellent.
The rooms themselves are restored from the old days so the more modern touches that you see in the newer cookie cutter hotel rooms are not there. However, our room was roomy and comfortable and I liked staying somewhere with a little history associated with it. There is an excellent morning buffet with homemade breads and quiche. Very enjoyable experience and I would return.

Kalispell is just a short jaunt from Calgary for the first day of a 2 week road trip and the Kalispell Grand Hotel was the right place to stay.

First of all, the staff gladly accepted delivery of four parcels and kept them for a couple of weeks. A very dog friendly hotel with even a water dish outside the front door. Perfect location for shopping and close to Hops Grill (for a yak burger) and a good ice cream for dinner. The room was smallish but very clean and well renovated with everything that was needed for a comfortable stay. Good breakfast included in the room rate which included an onion quiche and various nice breakfast breads.

In short, not a resort hotel but a relaxing, pleasant place to stay at a very good price!

We wanted a hotel that was within walking distance of restaurants and the Grand fit the bill perfectly. We arrived earlier than check in time but as we were travelling by motorcycle, had nowhere to put all our gear. The clerk found a way to get us into our room early. The hotel was very booked up so had a room with 2 double beds the first night and then had to move to another room for the next 2 nights. The staff made this a totally seamless experience. We just left all our gear in the room and it was magically moved when we came back after a ride. Around mid afternoon there are fresh cookies and popcorn for guests. Very nice touch. Rooms are small but very functional. Wireless works really well and TV is modern. There was only a shower in our rooms which suited us fine. Parking for our motorcycles was easy, free and safe. We spent a total of 5 nights here and highly recommend it. There are lots of other choices in Kalispell but this will be our regular hotel whenever we come back.

My husband, son and I took a vacation to Montana and needed a room on either end of our 11 day trip. The Kalispell Grand was convenient, clean and comfy! The coffee, juice and breads in the morning were perfect! What a great historical place to stay near West Glacier, within walking distance of the local shops and great food, ice cream, etc.

Room Tip: Rooms are small since this is a 100 year old hotel. But clean and comfy.

This is one of the classic restored hotels ( 101 years in business) - reminded us of another favorite, the Pollard in Red Lodge. Located in the middle of downtown Kalispell, walking distance from all kinds of restaurants and stores. Reception very welcoming right down to the freshly baked chocolate chip cookies. Rooms may be old, but all amenities upgraded - a/c welcome as we were there on a very hot day. Nice breakfast in lobby next morning with good coffee! Room prices very reasonable too - would certainly recommend.

Room Tip: Get there early - there is a Spa/massage in the hotel which appears to close at 6 - did not check to...

We had a very nice room on the third floor of the Grand Hotel which is right on Main Street. The room was nice and comfortable with great views toward the Swan Mountains to the east. We found the service very welcoming in the nicely restored lobby. The front desk person was very helpful in recommending a good restaurant for us for dinner. If we come back to Kalispell we will check back into this nice historic hotel.

Room Tip: Our room, overlooking the street, was fine for us but if you are bothered by street noise there are...
