The Hockaday's mission is "to enrich the cultural life of our community and region, and preserve the artistic legacy of Montana and Glacier National Park." The Museum features works by many prominent and widely known western artists, such as C.M. Russell, O.C. Seltzer, Adolph Heinz and Ace Powell, as well as popular contemporaries such as Mark Ogle and Nicholas Oberling. The permanent collection exhibition, available year-round, features paintings and sculptures that celebrate the history and beauty of Montana, Glacier National Park and the Blackfeet Nation. Rotating exhibits range from community art shows to exhibitions that feature artists from across the state and nation. All housed in a beautifully maintained historic 1904 Carnegie Library building, the Museum also features a juried gift shop with local Montana artists.
