What a fantastic honeymoon at Gili Lankanfushi! The level of service and attention to detail were second to none.
Pros:
Huge villas
Impeccable service (not in your face, but always attentive when needed!)
Eco-friendly (NOT gimmicky at all; true eco-consciousness at its best)
Great excursions available
Great food at every meal
Cons:
Not a lot of planned activities, so not for those who are seeking a social environment
Poor house reefs
A little too close to Male airport (can see planes going in and out, as well as shipping vessels...) but this also is a pro in the sense that Gili is but a short boat ride away

With regard to our house reef, our One Palm Island reef (western inner side of atoll) is full of corals as the lagoon there is naturally shallow and home to abundance of fishes. We are delighted to inform you also that within the next few months we are due to start a reef project to encourage more coral growth.

If you like luxury with an adventurous twist go to Gili. Amazing staff and amazing mr Friday. No complains.
Its expensive , but worth it. Dinners can sum up til 200USDpp but you can order from your villa or have a la carte dinner which makes it better. And you dont end up massively full.
All of the food is amazing. But beware, a lot of spicy plates too!

To celebrate our 10th anniversary, we decided to have a luxious trip to Maldives this summer. After a long time hesitation for choosing resorts, we made up our minds to select Gili Lankanfushi as our destination because of many people's strong recommendations. Now we are so happy that it was a bright choice!
After a boring long flight from Shanghai to Male via Kuala Lumpur and over-night stay in Male, we felt quite exhausted, especially our 8 year old kid, However, once we got on the speed boat of Gili, all the bad feeling was completely driven away, Staffs are not only friendly but also warm-hearted, When we arrived in Gili, we were warmly welcomed by many staffs including the manager and our Miss Friday, Chiara, a beautiful girl from Taiwan with a sweet smile. She showed us around the island and gave us a breif introduction. The island is not big but quiete and peaceful. The villa is very well organized, charming, comfortable with a perct sea-view! Although we had seen many photos from web before, it was still amazing when you saw it with your own eyes! Every villa ws equipped with 2 bikes by which you could explore the island by yourself easily. It was such a wonderful feeling when you drive along the jetty, with all the blue and green water beside you. It was just amazing!
As for the food, it was the best ever. So many alternatives for breakfast and various events for dinner! The over-water bar served different buffets in different days for dinner and you could have a full-sew-view during the meal. Everthing is perfect!
As for snorkelling, we did not find too many fishes but some guests did see turtles in Jetty 3. I would say this is not a perfect island for snorkeller.
After 4 day stay in Gili, we absolutely fell in love with this beautiful resort. Strongly recomeend!

We have been to this hotel in May/June 2013 for 7 days and this was one of our best times in our lives. Perfect villa, perfect dining, perfect staff all over the hole island, perfect island, perfect managment.
No News No Shoes...fanatastic.
We will visit Gili again as soon as possbile. This is really sure.

We stayed for five nights in September. We had originally planned on arriving at 9 pm, but our flight was rescheduled and we ended up arriving at 1:20 am. It took one call from the airport, and the manager said "no problem, we will make arrangements." That was the theme of the entire stay! Our Mr. Friday was attentive, and arranged for everything we asked for. We will miss Gili Lankanfushi!
