“Pleasant Stay”

Staff very friendly. Room 218. Not very soundproof but you don't come here to spend the day in the room. Nice breakfast offered, I have never seen such an assortment outside of a restaurant or buffet! Eggs, bacon, hashbrowns, sausage, toast, bagels, English muffins, biscuits & gravy, breakfast sandwiches, waffles, cereal, fresh fruit and juice. There is also coffee and tea in the lobby 24/7. Property is very clean. Small store in the lobby with snacks, drinks and toiletries for purchase. The rooms are clean and have a small fridge, microwave and coffee maker. The bed was very comfortable. The hotel offers Pantene shampoo and conditioner as well as Vaseline hand lotion. Not some cheap smelly stuff! The property offers free parking and wifi-connectivity was not an issue. I would definitely stay here again. We took a couple hour drive to Missoula where we found much better shopping. The only decent stores in Helena were JC Penny and Macy's. There were also more dining options.

Nothing special, but a pleasant, cheerful place. Rooms had a microwave and refrigerator (but without a freezer compartment, but the staff will put freezer packs into the kitchen freezer for you). Rooms were clean, as was the whole hotel.

We go to Missoula from the falls every weekend to see a relative. This time we decided to split the trip up and stay where there was a pool for the kids. I was content with this choice. Up front: I am reviewing each *Hotel perk selling point* that we utilized. I know for some people these things are important in getting a room. So I'm not nit picking. I will finish with my overall opinion.

Online Booking: We used the Helena Montana reservations page, Booking was easy and the hotel was easily able to check on our reservations.

Staff: Downright amazing service. The staff member we had knew her stuff, easily answered questions, was absolutely polite and professional. No complaints at all with the staff.

Parking: Perfect for a regular passenger vehicles and trucks, there is a little bit of space for trailers or small RV's. Anything longer or larger, and you may want to consider parking in one of the nearby lots.

Lobby/Halls. No complaints at all. perfectly clean and inviting.

Room: Again, the room was clean and perfectly so, the beds were neatly made, no spots or stains or weird smells. On my journeys thus far in this level of hotel it was the first to use name brand shampoos/conditioner (Pantene). Mini fridge, flat screen tv, Microwave, coffee maker. Plenty of outlets. My only complaint here is the need of a second bed stand. and possibly a table besides the desk. These rooms are Big and it seemed that there was enough room for these items. to really make it absolutely perfect. The rooms were modern and tastefully decorated.

HEATER: Sadly, our heater would get warm and then begin to blow cold air after a time so I turned it off at bedtime. It was almost enough for me to drop the stars on this review. But I didn't have time to make the complaint and allow the company the chance to make good. By the service I received I don't doubt they would have been helpful in righting the issue.

Pool/ Hot tub. The pool while, clean and neatly cared for, was a bit disappointing in that it was too cold. The Hot tub being the other end at too hot. Regardless we did utilize them.

Breakfast. This hotel has a wonderful assortment of breakfasts to choose from! Toast, meats, eggs, fruits, yogurts, biscuits & Gravy and waffles. Though the hot food wasn't all that delightful in flavor. The eggs were rubbery and bland and the Biscuits and gravy tasted funny (burned?).

They do charge an amenity deposit, so be prepared for the extra fee.

Overall: A clean, satisfying experience, with A-1 customer service. I would absolutely return.

We will look into that room’s heater and see what we need to do to resolve this issue. I know this doesn’t help your situation, and we are sorry that we could not fix it right away for you. We also recently reinvented out breakfast, and the biscuits and gravy is a recently added item. We may have to switch to a new vendor for them, and thank you for bringing the quality issue to our attention. The additional charge you see on your card is only an authorization, we preauthorize for incidental purposes. The authorization is released upon check out. Loved our stay in this fresh space. Hot buffet breakfast and clean pool. Coffee, tea, and hot cocoa readily available. Does charge a deposit for amenities so be prepared as we weren't told when our cc was billed. Amenities are priced fairly and great assortment :)

I’m not sure what amenities you are referring to that we charge for, our pool, fitness center, and full service breakfast are all included in your room rate. We do authorize your card for $20 more each day as a safety net for the hotel, as incidental protection. However that authorization is released upon checkout. We stayed at the Helena Fairfield on January 28, 2014. I want exceptionally clean rooms and this hotels has exceptionally clean rooms so I was really pleased. They have a great staff, they are very friendly and help full. The Manager even held the door for us when we were taking out our luggage. The rooms are very quiet and heard no noise from any other guests.
The breakfast was great. Anything you could get in a restaurant they had. The lady making and looking after the breakfast was a very friendly and fabulous person.
I stay in a lot of high end hotels and this one even meets those standards and its classed as a medium class hotel. I do not know what people are complaining about. If you want a $350.00 a night hotel then you had better stay in one and not expect to pay $130.00 per night and have the same quality.

We visited this hotel last weekend when it was sub degree weather. The heater was extremely noisy and kept us up most of the night. The person working the front desk lacked in customer service with any type of acknowledgement of us in the lobby area or coming or going. We checked out the next morning and went to another Marriott hotel in the area that was much more comfortable and a bonus was the heater was quiet and allowed us to get a restful night sleep.

Room Tip: Don't visit in the winter if you need or want heat.

Dear Guests - if a problem arises on our property - just let us know - we will quickly respond to your needs. If one has a problem with a noisy heater unit let us know because we could promptly move you. Dear Froglag -you checked in early afternoon and never once mentioned a loud PTAC unit. The inattentive customer service person you wrote of was also the one that overheard you were having car troubles and gave you the hotel car jumper box so you could get on the road - he was also the one that looked up road conditions on the computer to see how road conditions were on the way to Spokane as you were checking out early to beat the storm (your words not ours). You did mention that the heater was loud upon departure, that was the first we had heard of it. We have replaced almost all the PTAC units in the sleeping rooms with new units - sometimes even new things break and need replaced or repaired - give the property an opportunity to fix a problem - if we ignore it and fail to rectify a situation then beat us up on these sites.

My first time Helena. Decided to stay there because it was walking distance to my business meetings.

I would say that the experience was good. Nothing memorable about it, nothing bad about it. Un-distinctive hotel, good service overall. Good price.
