“used to be better”
Reviewed January 25, 2013

There used to be a lot more retail shops on this nifty little historical site. Now it's primarily office space. Handicap access is difficult due to the steep brick road, many stairs, and lack of motorized access. If the weather is nice, it's a pleasant stroll, but this is not a destination.

“Wonderful little nook.”

This is a great place to wander around with a camera. An alley that feels like you just took a step back in time.

“Lots of potential, enjoy the history”
Reviewed November 24, 2012

This is an historic area with very old miner's buildings, nicely restored. Very pleasant strolling, within easy walking distance of downtown Helena and the Last Chance Gulch walking mall. Unfortunately, Reeder's Alley has encountered difficulty attracting and retaining businesses. When we visited, there was one eating place open (a nice, inexpensive lunch place where we ate our sandwiches on a deck with pleasant views). Nothing else. No shops, no nothing. Anyhow, it's a quiet and pleasant place to stroll and enjoy the historic atmosphere.

We last went up Reeder's Alley during a Halloween Ghost walk. The place has great history and ambiance.

“Nothing Big but still special,”

Doesnt take long to see but you can almost picture yourself there a hundred years ago. It has way more potential than what you see.l
