The Carolina is a beautiful mansion, built in the early 20th century, so it is over 100 years old. The home is HUGE, and has been lovingly restored. The basic bones of the structure are Prairie/Craftsman, the decor is Victorian. The public rooms are beautiful and the furnishings comfortable. Our guest suite was large, with a beautiful fireplace and a comfortable bath with shower. We were greeted on arrival by Pat, an absolutely delightful lady who assists Colleen, the owner. We slept well in the huge bed with a firm mattress and lots of pillows. Breakfast in the morning was just what we wanted, and served in a comfortable sunroom.
In the morning we had the opportunity to meet and chat with Colleen. In a very short time, we felt like we'd made a new friend. Pat recommended a couple of restaurants for us for dinner the first night, and we were extremely pleased with the one we chose. The home is conveniently located to the downtown business/shopping/restaurant areas. Of course, Helena isn't that big.
If I were going back to Helena, or knew someone who was, I would highly recommend The Carolina.More
