“Plan to stay a bit, but so worth it.”
Reviewed November 27, 2013

Yes, you will wait a while. Especially during the lunch hour. But their soups and sandwiches are the best. Fresh and tasty. Cookies are the best. Soft not hard. If you could pick any place in Havre, MT to have lunch definitely pick this place. Ambience is really outdated but who cares because the food is terrific.

“Always good sandwiches, soups, and sweet treats!”
Reviewed October 18, 2013

A "hippy" sandwich shop (hence the name) located downstairs in the Atrium in downtown Havre. The sandwiches are awesome and the ingredients are very fresh. I would HIGHLY recommend getting your sandwich grilled on the panini press because this "makes" the sandwich. The bread is baked fresh daily and there are several varieties. You can buy loaves of bread to take home as well as choose from a selection of cookies, bars, cinnamon rolls, and other specials. There are daily soup specials that are made from scratch. Lunch hours are limited, 11-2, but if you can make that work it's definitely one of the best places to grab lunch in Havre.

“Fresh is fresh!”
Reviewed August 26, 2013

Don't be put off by the strange collection of shops in this mall repurposed from an old department store. Follow your nose (and the locals' recommendation) down the stairs to this bakery and café. There's nothing like a sandwich with fresh ingredients on bread that came out of the oven that same morning. For those with smaller appetites, you'll probably love the fact that you can order just half a sandwich. Everything tastes great. If you're up early, they open at 7 a.m. with fresh cinnamon rolls.

“Awesome Food”
Reviewed August 3, 2013

Went to Grateful Bread based on the reviews here and are we ever glad we did! Everyone's sandwich was delicious and the baked potato soup was to die for. The owners Sheila and Rick made us feel welcome and the service was great. DO NOT LEAVE WITHOUT GETTING SOME COOKIES!! As in a previous review, the chocolate cheesecake cookies are AWESOME!!! From now on, we will definitely be stopping for lunch every time we're in Havre.

“Yummy lunch food, and good cookies”
Reviewed July 23, 2013

After last night's awful dinner, today's lunch was a delight. This is a groovy little spot stuck in the basement of a strange mall downtown. Don't let the location put you off, as the sandwiches are well done, and the cookies were terrific (and only 60 cents!). Definitely the place to stop in Havre, shame it's not open for dinner.
