“Bar - Hotel - Restaurant - Gift Shop”

Lincoln's Silver Dollar Bar
Ranked #1 of 2 Restaurants in Haugan
Restaurant details
Reviewed September 9, 2013

This is reported to be the oldest gift shop in Montana complete with a hotel, rv park, restaurant, bar, store and gas station. It is quite large and well arranged. After dining in the restaurant (average) we strolled through the gift shop, which is large and into the bar where the walls are covered from floor to ceiling with silver dollars! Very unique! Very busy place!

When we arrived they were pretty busy but had the sign turned to seat ourselves. We wanted a booth as we had our 4 year old grandson with us and it would be easier to sit at. When we asked if we could get a booth cleaned the very rude waitress said they were very busy and trying. We just told her to nevermind then and sat at table 1. We then had to wait for someone to acknowledge that we had even sat down. Another waitress finally noticed us as she was clearing another table and said she could drop menus with us but did not leave us a child's menu. We then sat awhile longer before another waitress finally waited on us. She was the most friendly person that we experienced out of the 3 during our visit. She had only worked there 2 weeks though, so being new she didn't know much about the menu. When we finished I let our waitress know that the turkey on my chefs salad had a funny taste to it and either it was old or a brand that didn't taste that great, like real chemical like or something. Her boss must have heard my comment as the waitress came back with our credit card and receipt and told me her boss said the turkey had just been sliced. Either way, the food was edible, but nothing to write home about. My dad suggested we stop there on our way to Billings as he's been there before and went to school with the Lincoln kids in Libby. Needless to say, we won't go back and won't recommend it. The silver dollars are cool, but it's a tourist trap. Don't waste your time or money.

If classic, off-the-interstate, tourist trap is what you're into, STOP here. We browsed the huge gift shop of junk (I'm amazed at what people will buy!!!). Then, we ate lunch at the cafe. Service was s-l-o-w & it was a bit pricey. $13.95 for a chef salad? No thanks. However, the place had charm. It takes you back atleast 2-3 decades.

Did not eat there but I stayed in the free RV park behind the store which had electrical service. You're RV has to be self contained as there is no sewer or dump servvices. Prices are high in the store and the have video poker/keno machines in the bar. On my return trip, stopped to fuel with fuel prices on average with other stations. Covienance store at the fuel station was standard.

Store and hotel and the coins are great but the restraunt is nothing special. Very, very, very slow service no refills on drinks never checked to see how we where doing had to ask for the check and remind multiple times what they forgot. Once we got the food it was average. Good size not too much over priced. The rest of this place was cool though.
