“Excellent value with basic breakfast included”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 11, 2010

This hotel appears to be conveniently located for people needed to use the nearby medical facilities, as it is not far from but not right off the interstate for travelers. We had no problems finding it but did have the location plugged in our GPS. It is very conveniently located for a visit to both the Lewis & Clark Interpretive Center and the C.M. Russell Museum. Short drive in different directions to each attraction. The hotel is very clean, and the bathroom appeared to have been updated recently with newer curtain and shower/bath liner. Soap is provided but no additional bath amenities like shampoo, conditioner, etc. We had a room with fridge and microwave which was nice for our dinner leftovers. Continental breakfast is included in the price of the room really adding to the value, and it includes breads, cake donuts, bagels, with cream cheese, peanut butter, and then coffee and juice. There are several dining options within a short driving distance from the hotel, along a main commercial strip of shopping, business, etc. We took maybe 10 minutes to drive downtown for dinner that night, bypassing the closer commercial strip. Probably the best value in Great Falls.

This is a nice hotel, off the well beaten path, but worth finding and staying at. It's quiet, clean and nicely priced! We have returned to this hotel time and time again. The front staff are very friendly, the rooms are clean and quiet and the complimentary breakfast is simple, but all a person needs to start the day. It's a "no frills" kind of place, but I'm in Great Falls for the shopping, not the hotel room! The only complaint would be that you can't get a room with 2 queen size beds, just a double and a queen, but that's not a really big issue, unless your traveling with a group of shopaholics!

Stayed here for 1 night during a 2 month roadtrip. Had travelled down from Canada & decided to stay here based on the reviews & the price (paid around $80 inc tax). It did take us a while to find this place but at least we got to see what Great Falls had to offer. Somebody else has mentioned getting a road sign put up & i agree this would help! Once we found the motel we were very pleased with our first impressions. Service was really good & check-in quick & easy. We had a room on the 3rd floor to the rear & it was very comfortable so much so we decided to stay in & order pizza. Breakfast was very good. Overall we were very happy with our stay here. Recommended (but take a map with the location of the motel on it!).

Stayed one night after driving across Montana from the east. Large, comfortable, clean room with table, fridge, microwave, wifi (albeit "iffy"). Excellent price, helpful staff.
Breakfast rather meager, but got us going.

We stayed Aug 27 on our way to Calgary, Canada; and then, again on our way back on Sept 5. On both occasions the rooms were clean and nice. Our rate was less than $70. The receptionist gave us a map to show us how to see the falls, traced a route, and answered all our questions. The breakfast the next morning was more than donuts and coffee; bagels, fruit, toast, tea, muffins, etc. We considered this hotel one of the best deals we had on our 3 week vacation.

Arrived fairly late but checked in no problems. The room was fine, clean and quiet. Received a telephone call from reception to check that the room was ok.
Location was fine so long as a you have a car and a sign post or two would have been useful when trying to find it.
Breakfast was a little buffet, more like a B&B, but we thought it was ok.

I have to say I'm completely confused by all the positive comments on this place & have had to check out the photos to make sure we stayed in the same place.
The first room we were given (on the 4th floor) was a smoking room, although the desk said it was not. The smell was ingrained into all the furnishings & the no-smoking sign had been removed from the door.
The second room was on the 3rd floor & was much better. No smoke at all, but very shabby. The flip-out chair was broken & the aircon was like having a jumbo in the room (and about 12" from the bed). The chair & carpet were stained & sleeping next to my husband was like sleeping on a jelly - everytime he rolled over I was wobbled awake.
Worst of all was that the floor of the bathroom had quite plainly not been cleaned & around the base of the toilet was dark yellow urine, & a few other bits as well...
I cleaned it up with a bunch of damp tissue & left a written note at reception, but didn't get a word of apology.
It was cheap & we'll chalk it up to experience, but we won't be back.

tgfimanager, Manager, Kelli P. at Great Falls Inn by Riversage, responded to this review, August 20, 2009
As General Manager of The Great Falls Inn by Riverstone, I am puzzled by this review. We care very deeply about our hotel and take Trip Advisor Comments very seriously.

Unfortunately, after much research we were unable to find the note the guest states she left at the reception area. We have talked to all of the desk staff who encountered her during her stay, and nothing has been found.

To reply to the comment left above though, I would first like to start off by letting you know the original room she was put in was once a smoking room, but with society pulling away from smoking in public places, we have decided to convert our smoking rooms to non-smoking. That particular room was converted on February 12, 2008. We do everything in our power to rid the room of any smoke smell, which includes new furniture, mattresses, fixtures, curtains, linens, paint, and any removable object in the room. The only thing that is not replaced is the carpet, but we do have it professionally cleaned. Of course some people are more sensitive to smoke than others, so there may be a lingering odor that remains.

We take much pride in our hotel and if you ask the majority of our guests, they would let you know our rooms are not "shabby." As of June 3, 2009, we received and placed new Thomasville Furniture in this room (and 19 others), along with new curtains and bedspreads. The only furniture not replaced was the recliner. The recliner was not broken; it had a slope in the foot rest and has been replaced with a brand new Lazy Boy recliner.

Upon inspection of this room, the carpet was not stained. We shampoo the carpets on a quarterly basis and the last time this room was done was July 14, 2009. The HVAC unit was inspected by myself, the marketing director of the hotel, and the housekeeper and was not found to make any excessive noise. We also do preventative maintenance on the HVAC units and it was last done on July 14, 2009 also. The mattresses in the room are a bit soft, but with everybody's personal choice, it is hard to determine who likes a soft mattress and who likes a firm mattress. With that in mind, we did check to make sure all of the springs were in tact and the frame and box spring itself were in good working order, and they were. We also hold our bathroom cleanliness to a very high standard and after personally inspecting the room the caulking in the room is a bright white with no stains at all.

If you would be willing to give us a try, we would show you The Great Falls Inn by Riverstone is "Quietly the Best."
