“DO NOT STAY HERE!!!”
Reviewed April 13, 2013

My brother booked this hotel at the last minute and it was the WORST hotel we've ever stayed in......EVER! The front desk staff are so unfriendly, the rooms are disgusting, dingy and old, the beds are rock hard with the creepiest bedding and to top it all off I left my Apple phone charger plugged into the wall when we left and when I called later that night to have someone look for it they were uncooperative. The next day I called again and they told me they found it (I described it in detail as it had some colored ribbon tape around it) and that they would hold it for me so I was happy about that. When my Mom went back down to pick it up for me a few weeks later the one I forgot had been replaced by some piece of crap and they tried to say that was the one I left behind. When I called to clarify the situation, "Sheila" was extremely rude to me and even tried to insinuate that I didn't actually leave a charger there when I told her the piece of crap that my Mom picked up was not the one I left there. She was completely rude when my Mom was there as well and I am so disappointed that on top of this hotel being just awful that their staff are about the same par - dishonest, rude and unprofessional. Can you imagine if I had actually left something behind of value? There are many reasons why I would never set foot in this hotel again but the main reason would definitely be the latter. If you want a clean, pleasant and comfortable stay in Great Falls then stay away from this hotel and pay a little more for the Holiday Inn Express or the Staybridge Suites - both fantastic on all fronts.

Room Tip: No good rooms - just choose a different hotel!

I booked the hotel for a long weekend to cover an event for work. It was the worst hotel stay I've ever had. The walls are so thin you can hear the room next to you clearly. The bed is completely uncomfortable. When I came back from work on Friday and Saturday, just looking to relax, the room reeked of weed so bad I wouldn't be surprised someone was smoking in my room. To top it all off, because it's an extended stay location, there's no housekeeping unless you pay extra.
It's a great location and a decent looking place with good service but the rooms are terrible. I'd never return.

I really wanted to love this place, because the front desk people were so great. Exceptional, in fact. The location next to the Missouri River, with a wonderful walking track and small park next door, is outstanding. A room with a river view is spectacular! The room was clean enough.

HOWEVER, I can only give it a 2 star review because two factors made my stay so uncomfortable that I had to cancel my second night's reservation. First, the bed was so hard that I had difficulty falling asleep, and once I woke up the next morning I was stiff and sore. You can tell the bed is hard simply by sitting on the edge of it. Surprising that this uncomfortable mattress would ever find its way into a hotel.

Second, the hotel was nearly sold out for the nights I was here. This means that the smoking wing on the third floor was filled with smokers. Even though I had a non-smoking room, the smoke filtered down the hall and into my room. Stepping out into the hall triggered a headache immediately. I asked to be switched the next day, before I decided to cancel, and the staff could move me to a second floor room, but warned me that the smoke came down through the vents in the bathroom. Worse. In this day and age, non-smokers should not be subjected to second hand smoke, period.

Room Tip: Have to have a first floor room to have a chance of getting out of the smoke

My room was very clean, an average hotel room, it was a bit outdated, but it definitely worked. The "continental breakfast" was not so....coffee and oranges don't count, it would stop me from staying again

Thank you for taking time to write a review of our property. I apologize as we do not offer a larger breakfast selection. Our Breakfast is more of a Grab & Go. I hope you give us another opportunity to stay with us in the future should your travels bring you back to Great Falls. Thank you again for your review.

The hotel would be OK for extended stay, since they have a nice mini kitchen and comfortable sitting/work area. We stayed two nights with a King at $70.00 night, which is a bit steep. The "Grab and Go" breakfast is "kind of silly". It is a mini, mini "breakfast". Pretty much what you have is "granola bars", orange or apple, coffee, and "TINY" little muffins. The front staff was GREAT. They were very helpful and accommodating. The TV's looked new, but the reception was kind of bad, with most channels were quite snowy. They offer free WI-fi which is very nice--but it was pretty slow many times. The room was clean and comfortable, but the hall way was pretty smoky . We were in room 303. Although we didn't have our dog this time, and they do allow pets--the $25.00 per night up to $150.00 is a bit steep for that property. It has a nice location on the Missouri River, and close to down town, and the airport. Applebees is just down the street, but that is about it for eateries near the hotel. You are about a mile or so away from other venues. We would go back there, but would try for a better rate.

Room Tip: There is only one elevator at the hotel-just off the lobby. If the hotel is pretty full, may take aw...

Thank you for taking the time to write a review of your stay at our Great Falls Location. The Grab and go Breakfast you mention is something we just added to our list of amenities in hopes we meet our guests standards, yet for you we seem to have failed to do so. For that I am truly sorry.

I hope we get to see you again in the future as we continue to diligently improve our model to meet needs of travelers such as yourself.

We got this hotel for $46 w/ taxes on Priceline for a night. I think it is pretty easy to find from the highway.

The hotel isn't exactly VERY clean and the beds weren't quite comfortable. It is fine if you are just looking for a place to crash for the night.

I love the staff at the Extended Stay Hotel. They are friendly, helpful and for the most part, knowledgable. I enjoyed my studio on the third floor facing the park, and it was quiet. The rates are reasonable. The Manager and Assistant Manager are awesome, and always try to make the stay enjoyable. I stayed her from March until December 30th, 2012.

The bad part is that ever since I have lived there, 7 months, one of the four washers have been inoperable. The others broke until we only have one washing machine that works. That isn't so good if you have two loads, and it's not enough for 170 rooms.

The TV programs are ridiculous unless you like a lot of sports. You have the discovery channel, the locals, PBS, TNT, and two showtime channels, along with three news channels; the rest of the channels are sports, and on weekends, forget about watching anything but sports. Also, be careful when you watch Showtime after 10pm...one some nights, not sure how many, there is hard core porn shows on.

So, here we are with only one washing machine working, and lousy TV channels and, they are going to put in a breakfast bar. I think I would rather make things work, first!

The sheets are clean and feel great on the bed, albeit some stained pretty bad, but the beds are lumpy, and they are so uncomfortable. You can turn the mattress or flip it, but it doesn't help. As if that is not enough, their vaccum cleaner is broke. They have NO vaccum cleaners, available. The rooms stink because of the carpets, but also, when they had the vaccum cleaners "working", they blew dust into the room. When the hotel is full, the smoking wing of the third floor, north side, is so full of smoke and stink that it drifts into the other rooms on the third floor. There is no exhaust on that wing to suck the smoke out, much like the vacuum cleaners.
The fire detectors go off at all hours during the night and day. They all need to be taken down and cleaned.

The markings for the ramp to the park, beside the hotel, are faded in the back, so if you want to go into the park, many times the ramp is blocked. Sometimes, you have to walk down the street to the park entrance, because both ramps are blocked. If you are in a wheelchair or walker, you can't go from the parking lot into the park.

All of the carpets are stained and no matter what they do, they look dirty. It looks really like a cheap hotel when you walk in. They just painted the wall behind the desk a brighthooker red, and they have an extra large photo of a welcome mat on the wall. The mat on the floor in front of the check-in counter is downright nasty, but the welcome mat in the photo looks really clean.

Sometimes the doors into the hotel are broke, and stay that way for quite awhile. It doesn't feel as safe because anybody can come through the doors, even without an electronic key.

The caulking around the bathroom sink and tub is stained, much like the counters itself. There is even a cigerette stain on the bathroom sink, though it's supposed to be non smoking. The windows are very hard to open and even harder to shut.

For those coming in for a couple of nights, it's defintely over priced. It's a nice hotel for longer stays, if you want an over priced hotel that only looks great on the outside and a wonderful location. If you are looking for nice carpets, mattresses, linen, and great smelling rooms with keys that work most of the time, doors that work all the time, a washer that works, then this place is probably not for you.

Room Tip: If you decide to stay here, ask for a room on the top floor, east wing on the north side. It faces...

I recently received a copy of your review, and wanted to take a moment to respond. Our company prides itself on excellent guest service, so it was gratifying to read your feedback about our staff. I would like to give you my most heartfelt apology regarding the part of your stay that was not satisfactory.

As this hotel’s manager, I challenge our staff to continually improve the experience of our guests, from the cleanliness of our rooms, to the courteous professionalism of our staff. Unfortunately, in your situation, it is clear that we were unsuccessful in achieving these goals. Given our belief that guests like you are our most valuable asset, this failure is particularly troubling.

Your review has caused us to take a serious look at the systems we have in place to handle our day to day operations and we will be making modifications as appropriate.

It's not common that we get the sort of feedback you provided, and although it is discouraging to read, it will help us make our hotel even better in the future. Let me apologize again that your stay was not completely satisfying, and assure you that we will continue to listen to our guests in forums like this one or directly (please visit our website and click the Contact Us link at the bottom of the page). I hope we have addressed your concern satisfactorily, and that you would give us the pleasure of having you as a guest again at this hotel or any other Extended Stay Hotels(sm) brand location in the future.
