“great view”
Reviewed October 1, 2013

Went there today, the bridge and island were closed but just beautiful. When we return next year we will bring a lunch and enjoy the sound of the water and the view

“These are the falls the city is named after”
Reviewed September 28, 2013

The island area was closed for the season but the falls can still be viewed from the parking area. The drive from town has spectacular views off to the east - take your camera! There is an island accessed by a bridge that has picnic facilities and the best views of the falls. It is closed in the winter months so I gave this a 4 rating. After going to the Lewis & Clark museum and seeing the videos, come here and see the real waterfalls. The ones at the museum are less than half the height.

“mini hoover dam”
Reviewed September 18, 2013

the swaying bridge is well kept and fun to cross, the park setting on the other side is a great place to relax and have a picnic. The road leading into the dam is like a mountain ridge.just an overall worthwhile drive

“Awesome”
Reviewed September 3, 2013

I think this is the best part of Great Falls. The dam and its surroundings seems to be in the middle of nowhere. Its prairie farming land all around and then the road goes down into this canyon. The drive out to Ryan's dam from Great Falls is short. The suspension bridge was a great feature. The garden on the other side was very well kept and peaceful. At one point we were the only ones there. Lots of photo opportunities. The history of the place is well captured on the short trail overlooking the dam and the falls. A little paradise sanctuary away from the city. Later we saw many people stop by to have family lunches here.

“Pleasant viewing”
Reviewed August 30, 2013 via mobile

Nice view of the river, and peaceful park on the island. The restrooms were clean, and admission is free. There is no way to access the water, and no real info on the dam. Plan on a 25 mile round trip, with no sizzle on site.
